Please note: I need to take my time sometimes - the world is fast as it is, especially the online world! Thank you for your patience in advance.
Feel free to message me if you haven't received anything from me and I'll be happy to sort it out.
Also, I always rate when I receive something. Maybe not on the day it actually arrives... but I definitely get to it as I'd be upset myself if my efforts weren't appreciated... so... please wait for me! If I haven't rated you, it means I either don't have access to the site or I haven't received your parcel so feel free to message me if you want to double check.
I've always found it hard to introduce myself but I'll give it a go:
I'm one of the dreaded Millenials. (: Apparently, I've got the INTP personality type. I'm also one of those people who still enjoy PokémonGO... and struggle to get through USUM! I currently live in Portsmouth, UK with my partner who is very English. (:
In the past, I used to swap postcards on Postcrossing.com where I met my Finnish pen friend. We've been exchanging letters since 2010 but neither of us does postcrossing anymore. I re-discovered swapping on Instagram as I was browsing in the #tea tag - I was delighted to see that people are swapping tea bags and I could be a part of that community. Some of them told me about this website so I thought I "I need to check out this swap-bot thing."
So, this is why I'm actually here: TEA!
I drink tea every single day. I'm kinda fussy about it, though! I know what I like and what I don't like and the teas I dislike I really DO NOT like. I'd love to swap and get to know different brands and kinds of tea, though! And possibly discover new teas to add to my 'Likes' list! (:
My favourite brands are Karel Capek, Nordqvist (Stina), Greenfield, T2, Mlesna, Natural Temptation, Pickwick and Teekanne (Pompadour) so I'm always happy to receive these. I'd also be happy to try more Ahmad, Meßmer, Bigelow, Stash, Tazo and Teavana teas! Sadly, England seems to be big on Twinings, which I'm not a fan of... but I keep trying different teas from them because I can't just ignore the No.1 tea brand of the world.
Generally speaking, I like rooibos, white and fruit (orange and melon are the best) tea; I only drink flavoured black tea (such as blueberry muffin or creme caramel). I am intrigued by 'unusual' flavours and pretty tea envelopes/wraps. There's a big folder in my drawer containing a collection of 'nice teabags' in their original packaging, which my partner finds amusing.
I'm not a fan of bitter tea (herbal tea that tastes like medicine) or black tea in general. I really can't stand the taste of ceylon. I only drink darjeeling, assam and English breakfast when there are no other options - I was advised to avoid black tea because my anemia doesn't do well with tannins. I don't like anise, fennel, licorice, rose, lavender, lemongrass, jasmine, rosehip or hibiscus tea.
I'm low-key obsessed with Finland, Germany and Japan (studied Japanese for 2 years but can't remember much of it). I enjoy travelling and learning something new. I've been exchanging letters and happy mail with a Finnish lady since 2010 and swapping tea on Instagram since May 2016.
Other things I'm happy to swap:
Starbucks cards (I'm somewhat of a collector now)
pocket letters - especially if they're tea, Starbucks card and stationery themed (:
beauty products (anything for type 3A curly hair and sensitive skin - I also like makeup with interesting packaging and I'm high-key obsessed with face mask sheets and other Korean goods), stickers, washi tape, letter writing paper, stationery (I like anything cute and spooky - not full on creepy but must have a quirky/dark twist)
anime/manga merchandise (Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Pokémon, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Serial Experiments: Lain, Chobits, Vampire Knight, Yuuki Yuuna is a hero, Fruits Basket, Kimba the White Lion, Death Note, Elfen Lied, Higurashi/Umineko No Naku Koro Ni, Rosario + Vampire, Suzumiya Haruhi series, Air TV, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Ghost In The Shell, Blood: The Last Vampire, Dance in the Vampire Bund, Love Hina, etc. - anything from the 80s, 90s and 00s but I'm a huge fan of the 2016 hit "Yuuri! on Ice" as well) - I'm currently watching the new Card Captor Sakura series and Violet Evergarden (:
pagan/gothic accessories, alternative plus size clothing (my dress size is a UK 16/18 and my shoe size is a UK 5.5 / EU 39)
international snacks (I like sweet and spicy things) - I'm game to taste new things but I am not too keen on animal products - I've been a pescatarian for over a year now and I'm trying to slowly go vegetarian (and eventually vegan)
I like the colour black, dragons and dragonflies but I'm not a fan of skulls. I do like the the music and the aesthetics of the goth subculture but due to my size and not being a fan of unwanted attention, I look more like Safiya and less like Freya.
