10/20- Today I mailed all the tags, WTAs packages, wishlist items, and round robin envelopes that were due out. I'm sorry for the delays. First there was Digger's death and the vet expenses. Then I reapplied for unemployment, and they left a three week unpaid gap between checks. I had to use my swap budget for necessities instead. SORRY EVERYONE! (I have tons of stuff to swap; I just didn't have the cash to mail it.)

10/08 - I've been offered a job! It's full-time with benefits even! It pays a decent wage, so I can start supporting myself again! I won't be living in comfort, but I might even be able to loosen up the budget before Christmas! I'll be starting on 11/10, so I'm trying to finish up some household projects ASAP.

My cat Digger died recently. Some of you may know that he was very ill, but his death was still really difficult for me. Thank you everyone for the sympathy and hugs. I needed them. I'm still very little low from time to time, but I'm muddling through. -N

I usually spend hours reading and playing simple games online every day. I am a 32 years old single woman. I have two cats now, because I lost one to an unknown illness in Feb '08.

My craft projects have been set aside due to severe arthritis in my hands, but I'm using swap-bot as a reason to start creating things again. I'm doing better now, but the fine detail work in jewelry making is still tough most days. I haven't been inspired lately, so hopefully this will change soon!

Crocheting and beading are my main hobbies. I've dabbled in quilting, polymer clay, and soap making before. I enjoy it all, but crochet and beading are the most soothing for me. I may pick up the others again for swaps though, since I've got a ton of supplies for the crafts I've side-lined. I can sew, but not well... even with a computerized machine, a straight line is a challenge. :(

I need crochet hooks with handles that are chunky and "not inline" in style, like Addi Turbo/Premier by Skacel, Clover Soft Touch, and Inox/Prym with handles. I've never been able to find the Addi hooks, but I do have the Clover SoftTouch hooks in sizes E thru J. I also have the Inox hooks in sizes G and H. I'd still like to complete the SoftTouch and Inox sets if possible. I've seen (on the web only) wooden handles that your regular hooks can be inserted into; these might work too. I've recently swapped for set of hooks with custom poly-clay handles, but I haven't had a chance to test these out. If anyone is willing to part with some of those Addi hooks, please contact me. I'd still like to try them too!

I love fountain pens, even the cheap "school" pens from Europe. Bic, Pilot, and other makers just don't distribute these in the USA. :( Stores like Tesco and Woolworth have budget fountain pens too.

I'm allergic to wool.
I'm sensitive to dyes/fragrances in products.
I don't drink coffee or tea.
I don't make scrap books or journals.
I don't use perfumes or incense.
I don't need stickers.
I hate romance novels.
I can't knit at all.
I don't need christian religious items.
I'm diabetic, so please no sweets.

I'm not fond of florescent colors, orange, yellow, light pastels (Easter colors,) or southwestern color schemes.

Stuff I want out of my storage room!!

All of the polymer clay is gone. Most of the beads I'm willing to part with have been traded already, unless you want plastic beads. About a quarter of the stationary (8"x10" sheets only) is committed.
