Hello! My name is Jane! I'm an undergrad student at UNC Chapel Hill studying Environmental Science in Chemistry. I love sustainability and being outdoors :) I'm new to the penpal game but I've always been into crafting and creating so I know I'll get the swing of it in no time. I'd say that my penpal aesthetic right now would be vintage, found works, lots of earthy inspiration, with tons of goodies!

I love to garden and grow my own food, go thrift shopping (I always try to shop secondhand when I can), kayak, backpack, hammock, spend time by the water, grab a cup of coffee and read at my local coffeehouse. Another small hobby is collecting postcards, particularly of national parks and other outdoor spaces!

Things I really enjoy in my swaps: -loose leaf tea (I love chais, black, and green teas, but do not enjoy fruity or herbal teas) -washi tape -stickers! -interesting greeting cards -floral/nature related items -chocolate -anything coffee related -book recommendations! -this is not a definitive list ofc just some things that really make me smile!

Things I do not really enjoy: -candy -non-utilizable ephemera (I try to live a very low-waste lifestyle and like to use everything I receive!) -ribbons (don't really use them) -nuts (if doing a food related swap)

I tend to jump all over the place with music haha. I enjoy lofi, alternative, 70s, 80s!, and some French pop here and there!

Writing letters (obviously haha!), sewing bento and produce bags, and making greeting cards. I always try to put a lot of love into my crafts to make sure they last and that the recipient knows they are appreciated! I also love to create zero waste crafts (i.e. use scrap fabric, recycled paper) to give a unique feel to them and help out the planet as well!

P.S. If you have any plastic straws, either used or unused, feel free to send them to me! I use them to create zero waste greeting cards since straws cannot be recycled. Thanks!
