I have lived (and currently live) in South Carolina for many years and I still don't like the hot, humid summers although my skin is grateful for that. And having mild winters is not too bad, either.

I have recently decided to no longer work outside the home for a while and my only child is now married and lives many, many miles away (with an ocean separating us). Therefore, I have a little bit of time on my hands to delve into my hobbies and taking care of my 4 happy cats.

I collect Hello Kitty treasures but only have one small space in my home dedicated to those items. I love all bold colors except yellow. I do use that color in my crafts but only as an accent or if I am making something for someone who likes it. Ditto for the pastels - only for accent or someone else.

My current preference in books is fiction (with some romance in there) and anything that is interesting enough to keep me on my treadmill. Having a Kindle helps since I can enlarge the font to where I can easily read but that means there is about 1-2 words per page.

Favorites authors are Diana Gabaldon (although I was extremely disappointed with Echo and I hope she is able to redeem herself with the next installment of Jamie and Claire), Charlaine Harris of Sookie fame, and my best friend just exposed me to Karen Marie Moning and her Highlander and Fever series.

I also thoroughly enjoy any book that pertains to the crafts - sewing, card making, quilting, as well as home improvement.

My first craft was apparel sewing. However, I don't enjoy that quite as much since adding a few pounds to the frame makes that less appealing. Having to face those dreaded measurements to ensure an accurate fit is quite depressing.

Quilting and cardmaking are my current loves. My best friend and I have starting attending/working local craft fairs to sell our wares so that we can fund a trip to England/Scotland in 2012.

I like watching the crime dramas on tv such as Criminal Minds, NCIS, NCIS Los Angeles, Cold Case, Southland. And Law and Order UK is a series not to be missed. I love it! The only reality show I like is Project Runway, although the ending of Season 8 disappointed me.
