So here I go, and my name is Kristen! And oh no, I am definitely not Kristen Stewart - I am so used to people asking me if it's my nickname, or if my parents are Twilight fans. When I was born, Twilight didn't even exist, so you can be sure my name has nothing to do iwth the saga!
I am really eager to join this site and participate in swaps! I bet you all know what it feels like to find something special in your mailbox, something that brights your day beyond belief and then, spend some good hours trying to pick something special to send in return! I can't wait to participate in swaps and perhaps even make friends with some swappers on here. I have been enjoying sending and receiving mail ever since I was 14, and this hobby is always with me, to the present day even.
Okay, so here's a little something about me. I have it as my Facebook About me information, and I guess it can give you some kind of a clue about who I am!
I'm the one who never lives up to people's expectations
I'm the one who is absolutely obsessed with foreign languages, especially English
I'm the one who is sure that the day without the sun is a day wasted
I'm the one who writes something all the time
I'm the one who can't imagine her life withput lipglosses & lipbalms (yay!)
I'm the one who tries to be better every single day
I'm the one you'd love to know
I'm the one who's addicted to everything orange
I'm the one who's clumsy, messy and never on time
I'm the one who loves life to death ♥
I'm the one who gets lost in books all the time
I'm the one who has the most awesome friends
I'm the one who is IN LOVE with ducks
I'm the one who's a silly adorable chicken ♥ ♥
I'm the one that you can call anything but typical ♥
I live in Russia although I am American. At the moment, I am a student soon-to-be a journalist. Writing is a significant part of my life, and I write a lot of things - novels, poetry, songs, articles, just whatever comes to my mind. I have always wanted to be an author and I have had my short soties and poetry published in some magazines and newspapers before. I dream to write a novel, a special one, that would touch people's hearts. I have some ideas in my head already, but not that much time on my hands to work on it just yet.
I have heaps of different hobbies. Most of all, I volunteer and I do love this kind of thing. I volunteer at many orphanages and shelters, mostly the ones for the children that have been abandoned by their parents. It brings me so much happiness to help those who are less fortunate than I am and I want to make ths world at least a bit happier and brighter. I strongly believe that anybody has a potential to give something to the world and make a difference.
I am also a faithful and a loving Christian who loves God. My faith means a lot to me.
My favorite colors ever are orange and lime green! They bring happiness to my life...
Some of my other hobbies include playing the piano and singing, drawing and painting, baking and cooking, READING (duh! I read something like ALL the time!), writing to penpals and sending mail.
So, since I joined swap bot, I thought I'd list some items I am particularly interested in trading with others all over the world. Here are some of them.
cards that represent your home country, state, city, or culture cards that have flowers, fairies, princesses, DUCKS, anything positive, inspirational and encouraging on them
Stickers. Who doesn't like stickers? I love stickers of all types in the world really, and this does include EVERYTHING. Cute and girly ones are mostly appreciated, though, but I love all of them.
Stationery and lettersets. I am a penpal and I always need some stationery of all kinds and sorts. I also love supplies like pens, pencils and erasers - have been collecting those since childhood!
Bookmarks. Since I am an avid reader, I adore bookmarks - cute and pretty ones, original and creative handmade ones, well, everything!
Scrapbooking supplies - I have recently taken up scrapbooking, and I love making cards!
Cute jewelry, Not the fancy expensive jewelry, but something cute and cheap, like silly bands or friendship bracelets. I love those!
Anything that is cute, girly or glittery
Any candy or hot drinks, especially hot chocolate
Skin and body care items, such as lip balms or creams or perhaps perfume samples
I am absolutely obsessed with ducks, so any ducks items are highly appreciated.
Hello Kitty and Strawberry Shortcake items
Anything Christian
But once again, I am NOT picky and I'll be incredibly happy to receive your swap if you put some soul and effort into it.
I think that swapping things should be personal, so any notes you include along with your swap are highly encouraged. I love people and I love talking to them, and I love having penpals. I love writing to people, so if you are looking for life-long penpals, then don't hesitate to drop me a line. I will be more than happy to set up some new friendships with people of ALL ages and from ANY countries possible.
Also, I am always open for private swaps. Most of all, I would love to swap things like postcards (and letters! :), stickers, bookmarks, anything handmade or anything from my wishlist. Please feel free to PM me if you are interested in doing a private swap and we may discuss the details. Just want to point this out, I might be a bit late with my replies sometimes, since life is really hectic for me now and I miss time tremendously. So, no offense please.
Like I said, I am not picky with what I receive, but I would very much appreciate that if you took the following into consideration:
I do NOT smoke and I live in a non-smoking home
I also do NOT drink either and I would be happy not to receive any postcards\anything with beer\any other alcoholic drinks\cigarettes
I DISLIKE SPIDERS. And I mean it. It's very easy to scare me to death - just show me a spider.
NO PORNOGRAPHY. Once, I received a Playboy letterset. Seriously. I keep wondering who thought I would like it - that once happened in one of my private swaps on Yahoo!
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I find it slightly upsetting when people write nothing while giving a rating. I always go above and beyond to make what I send special, so I believe that merely saying 'Thank you' will not hurt anyone.
Other than that, I have no allergies and I am always happy to receive swaps - in fact, that often makes me jump up and down of joy whenever I find a new swap in the mailbox! :)
Here are a few things I collect.
Anything about the USA. Yes, anything means anything, literally. I am mostly interested in postcards though, but maps. pencils, t-shirts and all other stuff of that kind is welcome, too. If you think you'd enjoy a stack of stuff that represent Russia, PM me and we might do a little swap about our countries
Postcards
Lettersets
Stickers
I do want everyone to know, I am NOT a flaker and if any of my swaps takes a bit long to arrive, the reason is that I come from a country that is remote from most of you. I joined this site to brin happiness and joy to strangers, so I really hope for understanding and patience! If my a chance you do not receive your swap from me within about three weeks after the send-out deadline, please message me before rating, most lkely we'll be able to work it out. I will resend if need be. Thank you!
