I'd like to quickly address the 2 1s I have in my "recent" ratings:
I have contacted all of the wonderful swappers who did not receive the swaps I sent out before my hiatus. I will be re-sending them all as I hear from each of them.
One of my swaps has been made up
Hi, I'm Teshia! I've got two wonderful kids and a fantastic husband. My oldest son is 10 and loves reading, gaming, and bowties. My daughter is 2, and loves robots, cats, and stickers. My hubby is a mechanic who does everything to support and encourage me and our kids. I'm a waitress full time, and an aspiring couponer. If you've got couponing tips - I'd love to hear them!
I love reading. When I was younger, you'd never catch me with less than 3 novels I was working my way through. I'd read walking to school, eating dinner, sometimes even brushing my teeth. (Sometimes you just can't put that book down!) My favorite books tend to be fantasy, though I'm getting into Sci-fi and horror more and more. I love good historical fiction, and a bit of romance is never a bad thing. I have an bachelor's degree in English (with a double minor in Linguistics and Humanities) and I love to write, so I tend to be very critical of certain aspects of books, mostly characterization. (I strongly feel the best stories are character-driven, not plot-driven). Tamora Pierce is to this day one of my absolute favorite authors.
I'd love book suggestions and reviews, and if you happen to do your own creative writing, I'm a pretty solid editor/critiquer ;)
I love to collect things. Current Collections:
Washi Tape
Patterned Papers
Pocket Letters
ATCs
Owls
Harley Quinn stuff (my daughter is named after her)
Firefly
Harry Potter
Marvel
Doctor Who (New Who)
Mass Effect
Pokemon
Disney
Final Fantasy
Star Trek (the new movies, I tried watching the shows but just can't do it...)
So many more...
I'm really into drawing/sketching and cross stitch. I do all sorts of crafts but those are definitely my favorites. I get frustrated with stitching on occasion and jump into something different for a while. I'm learning how to sew, though large projects still escape me as my free time is almost non-existent. I really just love to make anything and everything, and my favorite aisle at the store is the paper/pens/school supplies aisle.
Current art projects:
Really loving making ATCs.
Pocket Letters
Pen Pal Letters
Handmade envelopes
I love gaming. So much.
Final Fantasy
Kingdom Hearts
Resident Evil
Mass Effect
Disgaea
Pokemon
Tomb Raider
Skyrim
Dying Light
Fallout 4 (current addiction)
As far as religion goes, I'm part of a minority. I don't talk about it too often as most people have negative connotations with my religion as a result of not actually researching the subject. I am not Christian. That does not make my religion against God.
I love learning about other religions though, as I've minored in Humanities and have studies other cultures/religions/etc. quite a lot. I am way fascinated by Eastern religions and minority religions.
Anything:
Egyptian (ancient or modern!)
Anthropological
Historical
Cultural
Steampunk
Linguistic in nature (papers in foreign languages, that sort of thing!)
Morbid and creepy, particularly if it has legitimate historical context. (Think 18th century apothecary-type stuff, and the like.)
Faeries. And I mean the Faye, not Tinkerbell. I love to actually research the mythology!
Any mythology! Egyptian, Greek, Indian, you name it. Love it.
