Hi! I am "Mistysmom100" and happy to be a new member of Queens Haven Card Crafters. I am a retired mother and wife, but never a retired homemaker. My two sons are 30 something, have their own homes and lives. My beloved husband passed away almost 9 years ago to cancer. I was born on an Alberta homestead, lived most of my growing up years in Edmonton. My husband was in the Military so we, as a family, lived in Alberta, Nova Scotia and Manitoba. When he retired we moved to his home which was Prince Edward Island. Eventually I moved back to Winnipeg to be with my sons. I love living here as there are just so many interesting things to do.

I enjoy many types of music but when I am home, it is Country & Western, all the way. I can't say I have a favorite singer but like individual songs. I like to support Canadian talent. I also love the Canadian Roots music from the Maritime Celtic, french & metis fiddle music.

I am an avid reader, and read everything from fiction, inspirational, craft & self help books. My favorite authors, today, are Nora Roberts and Catherine Cookson (I collect her books).

I just don't get out to many new movies, these days. I think the last one I saw was a Canadian Movie called, "Bad Cop, Bon Cop". It was very funny but one had to be Canadian to appreciate it. The two movies that I can watch any time are Dirty Dancing and Man from Snowy Mountian.

Ah TV????? There isn't much for me. I do like Dancing with the Stars and watch a couple of soaps. My favorite sit com is a Canadian Show called "Corner Gas". Also enjoy Heartland and Murdock's Mysteries. Any thing with Yannick Bison in it, is okay by my books. My favorite spectator sports on tv are curling, and Tour de France.

If one is a crafter, there is never enough time in a day to accomplish everything one wants to do. Crochetting is my first love. I started when I was 3 years old. I do fine crochetting and make doilies, gift items and Xmas ornaments. I also love to make cards and have incorporation my crochetting into that. These days I am giving the polymer clay a try.

I love to hear the sound of train whistles at night. Also love the sounds of the city. My favorite colors are pink and blue. I like to learn new things and hear how other people live. Oh, a good friend a I spend every Sat morning, over spring, summer and fall, going to yard sales.

I have collected butterflies and coffee spoons over the years. These days I collect clothing buttons and miniature tea set/things. I also collect Easter Eggs and stuffed moose, but on a small scale.
