I live in Australia with my lovely husband and two Maltese X Chihuahua's called Sun Zi and Chi Chi.
I have to confess to being a irredeemable Gleaner (after the French documentary called The Gleaners- beg, borrow or steal a copy immediately). I love Flea markets and op-shops and pokey little thrift shops in out of the way places. I love finding some dusty treasure to lovingly restore, books with broken spines and old photographs for bookmarks. I adore vintage postcards and postcards that seems strange and mysterious in some way. I love black and white photo's, J. G Waterhouse prints, mythology and photo's of places that spark my imagination. I love swap-bot, it makes me feel that the world is filled with sweet, kind people who want to send beautiful things to friends they just haven't met yet. I'm happy to receive anything that you want to send me, free postcards, ancient yellowed cards with fountain pen writing on them, anything that sparks your imagination is sure to do the same for me
I love reading. I'm a total book worm. I seem to read an author to death and then devour the next one. I've just had my socks knocked off by "No Country For Old Men" by Cormac McCarthy (which I actually thought was better than the movie, though both had strengths). I seem to rotate between truth and fantasy- Naomi Novik's Napoleonic Dragons one week, then Susan Orleans "Orchid Thief" the next.
I loved Atonement (Book and movie), Juno, Room with a view, I will normally look for a movie that was originally a book, because you can usually guarantee that somewhere, someone was passionate enough about the book to spend years of their life making the movie
Anything by Joss Whedon, Supernatural, most science fiction but also I'm going through a bit of a British TV phase: Dr Who, Torchwood, Foyle's War, Grand Designs, the excellent documentary series Extraordinary People. I love a good mystery too.
I thought I should add this because sad to say, I'm just not a crafty soul. Maybe someday I'll discover a latent talent for knitting or crochet, but at this time of my life I'll stick with my addiction to postcards
