I am a work from home grandmother of 4, ages 16,13,12 and 5. Married, with a husband that works in Oklahoma and comes home on weekends. Proud "parent" of a 3 year old male Golden Retriever named Jake. Was a military spouse for 30 years and after 10 years of his being retired, I still miss it..enjoyed moving around and visiting new places and meeting new friends. I love coffee, but I like tea too. I will try most anything when it comes to food...you don't know if you don't like it unless you try it! My latest passion..if you can call it that, is trying to get myself organized and downsized somewhat.
I like most any music except hip-hop and rap. My favorite, I guess, would be classic rock.
I love to read just about anything. I have run out of space for books in home, and I have a ton on Kindle. I have to keep off of Kindle so I won't buy so many. I like thrillers, romance, fantasy and science fiction and that's just a start.
I love, love, love British series, particularly, mysteries. Midsommer Murders, Dr. Who and Being Human, Luther, you name it, I watch it on Netflick and just signed up for Acorn. I also like Elementary, Monday Mornings, Bones, CSI (all of them, but original best), Criminal Minds and others. I dvr a great deal.
That's hard. Have to think. Most of the movies watched around here are kid movies. My grandchildren are here alot of time.
I am a wannbe crafter. At one time, when my daughter was younger, I did some crafting, needlepoint and cross stitch. Somewhere along the line, it all stopped. I guess I just got too busy. I am ready to start again and to learn new skills.
Update: trying my hand at altered composition notebooks! Not very good at it yet, but so much fun. Very basic right now, but need to build that embellishment side..I just really wish God had give me more creative juices!!!
I love to cook and collect recipes. but my collecting has gotten so out of control, I just have been scanning everything into my computer to eventually be added to Mastercook. UPDATE: I got a new recipe box and all recipes sent by my friends here go in that box. So make sure you have your name on there somewhere. One day, it will be a memory for one of granddaughter's who love to cook. They know I swap, so it will be fun for them to see who I swapped with.
I just wanted to add that after reading some of these profiles, I am not picky. If I receive a recipe (which is where I mostly swap) that has something I particularly do not like, or my family may not like (they don't like most of the stuff I like) doesn't mean I won't make it. or use it. I have church dinners, etc. that I make food I think others will enjoy and so many enjoy foods I don't. I am grateful for all the recipes I receive and how good they look whether it has a food in it I dislike or not. I have favorite colors, but if I receive something I don't care for in color, I pass it on to someone who does. I am not a "green" person, but my daughter and her family love the color green. So to anyone reading this, I will appreciate anything you send and will always rate you fairly.
