If you do not receive something from me, please message me and I will fix it. Scouts Honor!
I am an educator and artist in Los Angeles. I'll use any medium, but I'm most comfortable with charcoals, inks, and water colors. I attend a local live drawing workshop once a week. I have always loved creating thoughtful and creative gifts and letters for the people I love, and I am very excited to finally have something equally thoughtful sent to me in return.
My current obsession is tea and I would like to complete coursework to be a tea sommelier. If your swap involves tea, I will probably join it!
I am in my late twenties, but an old lady at heart. I am early to bed, early to rise. I love all things cozy; books, soft blankets, robes, hammocks, spas, yoga, meditation, ASMR, etc.
Besides my love for education, I also became a teacher so I would have long vacations to write, create, and travel. I am always planning my next big trip. I love museums, libraries, parks, and gardens. I am a complete foodie and my travels are often food focused.
I love antiques, fine papers, and miniatures. I collect paper craft models from places I visit in my travels.
As for dislikes, I don't have too many. I don't like over processed or artificial things, but for the most part anything goes!
I am an English Lit major. I've devoured a good chunk of the classics. I enjoy every genre of literature and always have a huge pile of books hoping to chug through and an audio book playing in my car. I am a library fanatic and attend a book club regularly.
I typically read by author. A few of my current favorites include: Jonathan Ames, P.G. Wodehouse, & David Mitchum.
I'm a major film buff and I attend film festivals regularly. I love Netflix.
I like every genre of film, but I'm especially fond of classics, foreign, and indie films.
My all time favorites would be Shop Around a The Corner, Amelie, Billy Elliot, & Cinema Paridiso. I love anything by the Coen brothers, Wes Anderson, or Michel Gondry.
I can't imagine a life worth living without music. My experience is that music is more healing than any drug or therapy. I like all different types of music depending on my mood. Classical, Jazz, Contemporary... you name it.
When I'm feeling nostalgic I like folky stuff like Joan Baez, Joni Mitchel, Cat Stevens, Peter, Paul & Mary, etc., or rat pack crooners like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
Big fan of classics and oldies, especially The Beatles, T-Rex, Elton John, Rolling Stones, The Police... and many more.
My all time favorite band is Franz Ferdinand, whom I've seen live 3 times and know every lyric to every song they've ever written. My goal is to see them live in their hometown of Glasgow one of these days. I absolutely love live music and try to get out to local bars and pubs to hear the local talent. I go to F*&# Yeah Festival in Los Angeles every year, which headlines a lot of bands I love. Other major favorites include Empire of the Sun, Arcade Fire, Kaiser Chiefs, Interpol, Sigur Ros, Jonsi, White Stripes, just to name a few.
