I am a mother of three young and awesome daughters. They are simultaneously the light of my life and the reason for most of my headaches. I work two jobs--at a grocery store/organic foods store/nursery, and also as a teacher at a preschool nearby.

I'm also going to school to be an elementary school teacher, and I'm a freelance writer.

And I am starting up my own Etsy store soon.

I detest fake people, and most small talk. Give me your genuine nature, however bitter or overwhelming it may be, and I will embrace it ten times better than a plastered on smile. I also dig the unexpected, would adopt 40 puppies if allowed to, and those that know me know that 2 drinks is one too many for the likes of me.

I'm also a 6-foot-tall Amazon. That's not a joke. I harbor dreams of being a roller derby Amazon. I would so kick ass.

And I want to take over the world, with penguin-piloted jets.

I love indie-rock...the more indie, the better! Voxtrot, Grand National, Josh Rouse... they all rock my world. Then, of course, are the more mainstream guys, like the Strokes, the Killers, the Kooks, Bloc Party, Interpol, Jack Johnson, and Panic! at the Disco.

OOH! And OK Go! Even if just for their music videos, these guys rock my socks off.

In my free time, when I have any(!), I love to read, cook, bake, knit, sew, cross stitch, sculpt, paint, and daydream.

Constructive reality TV-- Project Runway, Top Chef... and even the not so constructive, such as America's Next Top Model and The Amazing Race.

And Arrested Development, Scrubs, and Firefly. And the Office. And... the Food Network. I'm addicted to the Food Network...particularly Alton Brown's Feasting on Asphalt. Sheer geniousity (As is the word 'genousity'!).

I collect anything with trees, rainbows, the moon, and birds or bird nests on it. Bacon and cupcakes are also awesome! Tarot card images are wonderful, as are pin up girls, and anything having to do with the Seven Deadly Sins and Alice in Wonderland.

I also love all manner of inanimate objects with faces on them.

Zombies scare the crap outta me--so none of those, please.

I have a million favorite books, since my dad sat me down with "The Hobbit" at age 8. Subsequently, I have fallen in love with authors, rather than individual books. Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, J.R.R. Tolkien, John Steinbeck, and Bill Bryson are a few favorites.

Recently I have been more into the non-fiction, though. I am reading a book about the Knights Templar and their remnant churches and strongholds on the Danish island of Bornholm... and it is riveting. But before that was "Fast Food Nation".

It's one of those things--I am the most curious person I know, and curious about odd things. If I have a question, I don't hesitate to seek the answer. Now, I have zillions of little tidbits of information that just float around in my mind and in conversation. I'm told it makes me weird.

It makes me grin when people call me weird.
