My name is Kat Sanders. I am an artist, writer and crafter living in Glen Allen, VA, USA. You can see my work on Deviant Art (zaubrer) and my art site, The Painted Kat.

I am in the process of trying to get a Etsy store up and running. I have a few things up if you want to check it out. Mostly, I just need to take pictures of my arts and crafts to be able to add them to the store.

I love getting mail art, especially ATCs. Every time I get an envelope in the mail, I jump for joy (not literally, I have bad knees). The more decorations, the better!

Here is a timeline on how I handle mail art swaps:

When I join a swap, I start making the item leaving one or two small things undone.

Example: If I am working on a tangle ATC letter, I will complete the letter in black and white but I will not color it in.

Then once I receive the name of my partner, I will visit their profile to find one or two ways to personalize my item.

Example: For the letter ATC, I will find a favorite color and color in the letter using color pencils or markers.

Then I will place my item in either a plastic sleeve or plastic bag and place the item in a card with a hand written note. (Please note that the plastic sleeve/bag is a new addition. My first couple of swaps weren't in plastic.)

I usually mail them out on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday as those are the days I work. If something happens and the deadline for mailing is approaching, I will make a special trip to the post office. Please be aware that I live in Glen Allen, VA, USA and I do participate in international swaps as often as I can afford them.

UPDATED 06 APRIL 2014: I am fond of adding color to swaps where applicable. I usually try to go to a swapper's profile to find out their favorite color. I have found that most swappers don't put their favorite colors on their profile. I think it would be great to see a lot of favorite on a profile to help provide ideas. If you see a favorite that I don't have on a profile, message me and I will add it. I have a few below.
