Hi there! My name is April, and I live in Alabama. I've been married for 7 years to the most wonderful man in the world! :) I'm very girly, but I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. My favorite color is pink, but I love all colors! I love angels, owls, and flowers... I love to read, write, sing, and watch movies. And I LOVE getting mail... so I was very excited when I stumbled upon swap-bot! :)

Favorite Music

I enjoy all kinds of music, but I'm a rock chick at heart. ;) Some of my favorite bands/artists are Paramore, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Taylor Swift, Muse, Florence & The Machine, Adele, Third Day, The Civil Wars... too many to name!

Favorite Books

I read all the time, so this would be too many to name as well... Some of my favorites are Pride & Prejudice, all the Twilight books, all the Harry Potter books, Captivated, the Hunger Games series, The Host, Where the Sidewalk Ends...

Favorite Movies

Again, this is a long list! One of my favorite things to do is snuggle up to my hubby and watch a good movie. :) My faves that come to mind are Labyrinth, Princess Bride, Never Been Kissed, Alice in Wonderland, Ever After, Whip It, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Legend, all the Twilights and Harry Potters... And I can't wait for the new Hunger Games movies!

Collections

I collect Willow Tree Angels... I think they're gorgeous! I draw and paint them a lot too. I love anything angel related, really. And I love hearts with wings also.

Recently, I've gotten on a big owl kick. So anything with an owl on it would bring a smile to my face. :)

A few "fetishes" I have are socks, pens, and bookmarks. I can never have enough of any of them. The crazier the better!! ;)

I also collect unusual decks of playing cards. I would prefer full decks, but I can still use incomplete decks for different crafts.

I would also love to get postcards, stationery, princess-themed items, and anything Alice in Wonderland-related...

Random...

  • I love playing DrawSomething. My username is angellarae if you'd like to play with me. : )

  • I'm trying to develop a green thumb, so any seeds you'd like to send would be great!

  • I wear a 9.5 to 10 US in shoes/socks

  • I love getting mixed CD's

  • Sunflowers are my favorite flower. I also love poppies, hydrangeas, and pansies.

  • I'm a big Audrey Hepburn fan

  • I love peppermint tea

  • I love jellybeans, especially Jelly Belly

  • My favorite animals are giraffes and zebras

  • I have a shi-tzu mix named Chewy :)

  • I love friendship bracelets

  • I play golf with my hubby and love to use pink golf balls and girly ball markers

  • I love puzzles, trivia, and brain teasers

  • Anything sacrilegious... I'm a Christian

  • Any food or candy item that is not sealed

  • I have recently developed a lactose intolerance, so please don't send anything containing dairy. I can usually substitute lactose-free milk for regular milk in recipes though, so feel free to include milk in recipe swaps. : )

Comment: Thanks, April, that's a timely story. I'd have liked a bit more description to make me see the people and the events in context. How is that suddenly one desperate mugger can terrify nine people? I like the prompt you gave for the next story, it will be fun to write.

I love your description,"puke green embarressment machine" and I wish you had been free to take off on that idea and write a story of your own about what having such a gift would really feel like to a 16 year old.
