My name is Cathy, and I live in Alabama with my husband of 43 years. We have 2 adult daughters, 1 in Colorado and 1 in Tennessee. I am retired from a local school system.
I have a slight (major) obsession with vintage stamps. I try to include them on every swap I send.
In order to be able to participate in a lot of swaps during holidays, I have to prepare my swaps ahead of time. Do I sometimes duplicate my enclosures? Yep. Do I at times duplicate cards (Christmas, Halloween, etc)? Yep. But I promise that I am putting thought into every one, and I hope you enjoy them.
If the card I use has glitter, I will put a note on the back flap of the envelope that if you want a replacement with no glitter, just message me and I will get a replacement in the mail ASAP. No worries.
AND if you receive duplicate enclosures from me and want to pass them along in another swap, I will consider that a compliment!
I will never flake on a swap. I am very prompt, will always mail the day I receive partner addresses, and will register the day I receive a swap. If you ever have a question or a concern, PLEASE message me. I am more than happy to re-send. In the event that I have a circumstance that would prevent me from mailing swaps out immediately, I will always message you and let you know.
I have been a collector of postcards most of my life. It started when we would travel on vacation, and I would take the free postcards at the little motels we would visit on our travels. I still have tons of them!
I am also a major collector and user of vintage stamps. I use them on everything. I love the old stamps. I probably have more than I will ever be able to use, but that is okay! No apologies here!
I am an AVID participant in Postcrossing (cflathem). I keep my maximum number of postcards in the mail at all times. It has been so much fun!!
I do have a list of “favorite things” when it comes to postcards.
Lighthouses, Trains, Christmas ANYTHING, Birds, Brightly colored flowers, Lantern Press postcards, “Greetings from” postcards, State maps, Large letter state and city cards
I am really into washi tape. I enjoy using it everywhere I can.
If I had to list some “dislikes”, they would be:
No handmade cards please, they are just not my thing. No free or ad cards, No food items, No political items
But frankly, I would love to see anything else people want to share. I am always interested in hearing about other people and the things they love.
I miss civility and kindness. We seem to be lacking in that area these days. I love sharing my love of snail mail, crafts, creativity. We ALL have something to contribute to this world. Everyone has a talent. My hope is that we always share fun things with one another.
