Well, lets see.. My name is Maria, I'm 24 years old and married to my high school sweetheart who is an active duty soldier :)
My life has been complicated to put it simply- currently I am going to be receiving a bone marrow transplant on July 16th, 2008~ I've been fighting Acute Myelogenous Leukemia since Dec. 2006- so I am excited and hopeful for this treatment to be successful!
Update Transplant completed, now it's just a waitig game :)
I chose my username because I constantly am changing shape into a new being. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Ever since I was in kindergarten I have been completely fascinated with butterflies, with their transformation- and I take comfort in the knowledge that a butterflies transformation isn't instantaneous. It takes a long time for a caterpillar to metamorphose into the beautiful creature. Most of that change is internal- slowly bit by bit- but at the end has grown so much it is almost unrecognizable, yet it's beauty is unmistakable!
I have just recently discovered the big wonderful world of scrapbooking and have fallen completely in love! Partly because of an intense desire to preserve my life since my leukemia diagnosis- but also because during chemotherapy, while I can't focus on words enough to read a book or magazine- working with paper and creating each page centers my thoughts and leaves me feeling incredibly calm and of course at the end, feeling productive as well :)
My favorite colors are red yellow and orange-- the colors of the sun, flame, sunflowers~ or any variation. I also love groupings of blue, green, purple and black- and the contrast between any color and white or black.
I love clean sharp colors and lines- I love butterflies(if you hadn't realized that already!) and flowers- especially lillies and tulips.
