I love: contemporary design, sleek lines, art, architecture, dark chocolate, hard work, reliable people, laughter, olive oil, sports, travel, the West Coast (U.S.), good books, simple foods, bargain hunting, ephemera, cinnamon.

I don't love: drama, mean people, genre fiction (sci-fi, romance, historical, etc), bitterness, goat cheese, dieting, humidity, super-gourmet foods, Wal-mart, anything vanilla scented or flavored.

I'm a little bit addicted to: Venti Iced Lattes at Starbucks, the $1 bins at Target and Michael's, those little tiny spools of ribbon, craft blogs.

I took an extended break from swapping this spring because I was moving and settling into a new job and home, but now I'm ready to start going again!

My old standby (and longest love-affair) is with decoupage and other paper crafts. This is probably because I worked in Residence Life on college campuses for many years, and I sure do love to cut & color! :) More recently, I've taken up crochet and sewing and embroidery (and other fabric crafts). I've dabbled with jewelry, but it doesn't seem to hold my attention too well. When I was in high school, I was part of a gifted arts consortium, so I've been exposed to lots of different activities/techniques, and the ones I wish I could do more of are: photography, screen-printing, water-color, pottery/clay modeling, and lino/eraser cuts. I have serious thoughts (on a regular basis) about going to the local tech school and taking graphic design courses... Basically, I always need to have my hands in something artistic!
