I live in Oklahoma, USA with my husband, 2 cats and 1 dog. I always make time for something creative like sewing, paper-crafting, or crocheting. Love, love, love anything handmade! I'm kind of a novice at paper-crafting, but the more I do...the more I like it. I would like to learn more about creating ATCs. These little works of art are fascinating! Daily journal writing is something I’ve found to be therapeutic and reveals a lot about myself. I write every night before I go to bed and really enjoy those few quiet moments putting my thoughts and feelings on paper. I have a few pen pals I write to and love getting letters in the mail.
I am drawn to old things and like to go to flea markets and estate sales. l collect old buttons, vintage sewing notions, and ephemra. I take lots of pictures for my digital photo albums. I love nature and the ebb and flow of life. Anything old or sentimental tugs at my heart. I'm always in awe when I plant a seed and it grows into something! Just this year I grew a pumpkin patch right in my backyard that made delicious pies! The simple life suits me fine. My pets are very special to me and I consider myself a cat person, but I love all animals. I've had some very interesting conversations with my cats. My furry children don't know they are adopted. They think I am their real mom. ♥
My grandmother taught me how to embroider and crochet when I was about 5 or 6 years old. I love anything to do with thread or yarn. The feel of the thread slipping through my fingers somehow speaks to my spirit. My mom always said to leave things better than you found them, so I think creating something beautiful is a contribution to the world that makes it a little better. ♥
I like all kinds of music which makes it impossible to pick a favorite. Love blues and good ol' rock and roll...the kind you can dance to.
Whatever I'm reading at the moment is my favorite book. Love a good mystery with a little romance. Susan Branch is one of my favorite authors and artists because I love her whimsical style. Books by Gladys Taber make me feel centered and grounded. One of my favorite books is a children's book titled, "The Moon Quilt".
Two of my favorite movies are generations apart; The Holiday with Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, and Kate Winslet; and, 84 Charing Cross Road with Anne Bancoft, Anthony Hopkins, and Judi Dench.
My favorite TV shows are "Call the Midwife" and "Downton Abbey". Love all the British shows on our PBS channel. I love a good mystery, too!
I love all things British! ♥ My favorite other things are coffee, tea, anything handmade, buttons, anything vintage, nature, nice soaps and sachets, stickers for embellishing letters, and stationery. Red is my favorite color and lavender my favorite scent. The combination of dark pink and brown seems to always feel good to me. I like creating small crafty things like dolls, sachets and a few bigger things like quilts and rugs. Crochet, sewing, photography, and altered art are my favorite hobbies. I like old photographs, stationery, ephemera, anything related to sewing.

So, I was looking at your profile for the NFS Sewing Color Hunt. Last year or year before I read 84, Charing Cross Road. I did not know it was also made into a movie! You just made my day and have me all excited to Netflix it! Ginny
We would like to welcome you to the Shutter Me Up Group . We look forward to seeing your creative photographic talents.
Hi there,
Just stalking profiles, don't worry I am harmless, I am just doing it as I am hosting the 48 hours to sign up swap, checking out participants.
I also have that awe that comes with growing things, isn't an amazing process. We had a great pumpkin patch last year by accident, I had thrown out some pumpkin seeds into the compost and they came up. It was brilliant.
Best Wishes from New Zealand, Kay
