It seems such a lovely idea to swap nice things with people from all over the world!
I love to do Patchwork and Quilting, although I am still a relative beginner....when my children were small I used to sew Laura Ashley squares together and make them little jackets and stuff, but then I had to bring them up alone and could not find the time! Now I have some time so I am making up for it. I have a room full of all sorts of fabric which I am happy to swap with anyone who is interested. I have a particular love of vintage 1930s and 1940s cotton fabrics...I love the simple prints and colours.
I also have a great selection of buttons, some lace, braid etc. So if you want to swap, just get in touch.
I have a wide range of reading likes, t I love Ann Tyler, she manages to write about mundane things in such an interesting way...proving that all of us are interesting in our own way!
I adore Haruki Murakami, his books have bewildering plots, but you just have to suspend your disbelief and go along for the ride...it's a rollercoaster!
I also think Margaret Atwood (has it got 2 Ts?) writes some excellent books...The Handmaid's Tale, Cats Eye, The Robber Bride, The Blind Assasin and especially Oryx and Crake...amazing, horrifying and DARK!
My favourite film of all time is The Time Bandits...A Terry Gilliam masterpiece!
I also love American Beauty and The Shining.
As you can see from my about me slot, i adore patchwork & quilting, anything to do with fabrics really, I sometimes make my own clothes when I find the time. I have just started experimenting with paper crafts/card making and rubber stamps...still at the early stages and would welcome any advice or inspiration any one can offer me!
I love the sunshine, walking and swimming.
I love beautiful smells...Patchouli, Lavender, Sandalwood and other rich smells like these.
I adore cooking of all sorts, I make my own jams and chutneys and try to eat wholesome, homegrown food where possible! However, I do have a sweet tooth...I love chocolate but unfortunately I can't grow that in my garden!
I love handmade things, especially when someone has taken some care with it!
I love LUSH products Burt's Bees and products that are organic and natural!
I collect eggs (Not real ones, my hens lay them...I eat those!) But decorative ones made of stone or wood or decorated blown eggs.
I also collect jugs from all over the world...everytime I go somewhere I buy a jug, sometimes my friends do too!
I think the Kawaii things are really cute, but I haven't got much of this...would love more, particularly the little writing sets and memo pads.
I LOVE Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, The Buena Vista Social Club, Jefferson Airplane and Vaughan Williams! Plus more too numerous to mention!
I really dislike fruit perfumes, especially apple...I dislike any bath products or make-up perfumed with fruit...I like to eat fruit, not put it on my body! I do not like Goth stuff or anything too glittery or tacky!
