About Me

I like to make things and just let my creativity flow. Everything I do is authentic and made with love. Even the weird kind of love. Things you will often find among my belongings: Cats, sharks, yarn, nerdy t-shirts (but I'm not a nerd), notebooks, sketchbooks, sharpies (I work at Starbucks), and the color orange.

Favorite Movies

The list is endless, so really I'm here to simply say that I absolutely love movies and hope to make them a big part of my life. I am thrilled for the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel and admit that I have a soft spot for The Holiday. Overall, movies are my favorite form of media.

Favorite Television

I like cartoons and can go on and on about Spongebob and Avatar: The Last Airbender. I DO NOT like any dramas or anything adult-like and boring but I am actually pretty mature. I just lose interest. I think Doctor Who is boring, Breaking Bad is overdramatic, and Game of Thrones was too weird. I did like the first season of New Girl but lost interest after Jess and that guy got together. I preferred the sexual tension. I also shamelessly love Broad City. Oh and Anime, I watch a lot of anime.

Favorite Books

Good books. Like, actually well written books that have a plot that makes sense and are well balanced, in depth and thoroughly created characters and a realistic world. I am a writer so I know what it takes to write a book, let alone a good book. Things like Catcher in the Rye, The Old Man and the Sea, Ender's Game even, or Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore. Adverbs was a book that really moved me. Also, J.D. Salinger is pretty much my top author.

Favorite Crafts

I craft a lot, like A LOT. People talk about me and my ability to craft. I was hired for a job specifically for my ability to craft and that job wasn't to craft. I'm also smart and crafty. That's how much into crafts I am. Anyway, you name it I probably have already dabbled in it. Crocheting, knitting, finger knitting, scrapbooking, water colors, painting on canvas, painting on less conventional items, sewing, costuming, whittling, felting, poster making, perler beads, coloring, origami*, etc.

*I learned Japanese just so I could be better at Origami

Hi, and welcome to Swap-bot! I see you like origami...have you tried other Japanese crafts, like Temari and Kumihimo? They are also quite unique, and I especially like that they only LOOK complex and complicated! Emjoy!
