I'm 20 years old and a college student at Knox College in Illinois. When not at school, I live at home in Scottsdale, Arizona. I'm majoring in theater (concentrating on costuming) and minoring in Chinese. I work in my school's costume shop building garments, and it's great fun! My main objective is to fill my life and the world with as much beauty as possible.
I love all kinds of music, but lately I've been into folk/alt-country, such as The Civil Wars, Laura Marling and Hem. I also love oldies, especially Motown, and I have a soft spot in my heart for pop-punk bands like Fall Out Boy and Marianas Trench. Overall, my favorite bands/musicians are Rufus Wainwright and The Decemberists.
I like weird, creepy stuff, especially the kinds of things Neil Gaiman writes. I've read almost all of his books! Realistic or historical fiction doesn't interest me much; I like to explore the weird side of the world. However, I don't really go for swords-and-sorcery fantasy either, unless it's got a twist to it.
I watch way too much television, especially BBC and HBO shows. My favorite shows are Doctor Who, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, True Blood, The Tudors and Downton Abbey. I love period pieces and sci-fi, mostly.
My main crafts are knitting and sewing (garments, although I'm interested in quilting), although I also do some crochet. I'm not really into scrapbooking.
