Hello! I'm James (yes, a girl with a boy’s name), 33, and I hail from Los Angeles California. I’m a Production Coordinator in Hollywood. I work for a company that designs Movie Posters. It’s an amazing job, but can get really, really stressful. So, I make things to relieve the stress. I have a background as a professional costume designer for film and stage. I sew, embroider, crochet and knit. I also love to make collages, and sometimes combine my amateur efforts at drawing or painting with collage. I’m a Burner. I go to Burningman, and am active in the Los Angeles Burningman Community year-round. This year was my 11th year.

Favorite Things

I love things that are beautifully, skillfully handcrafted. I tend to prefer natural materials- cotton, wool, silk, steel, wood, stone. My favorite color is a teal similar to the ‘Tiffany’ Blue, but two shades darker.   My latest, greatest love is blue items with white or silver stars.  I have a somewhat macabre artistic sensibility.  I collect Taxidermy (I currently have a small White Tail Deer shoulder mount, Mouflin Ram shoulder mount, full body Chipmunk, Silver Rooster, African Kangaroo Rat and a set of antlers.)  My boyfriend Eric, who used to be a vegetarian, is very sweet to me in letting me decorate our house with these.

I love costumes and historically accurate reproduction clothing.  My favorite period is the Second Bustle Period (1870–1890), though I also enjoy Elizabethan and have lately branched out into Rococo and Early 20th Century.  I also collect corsetry.

My Favorite Animals are Foxes, Badgers, Weasels, Insects (particularly beetles) Octopi and Squids.

I also love items featuring mushrooms.  Specifically, Aminita Muscaria (the classic ‘Smurfish’ red mushrooms with white spots).

Beverages

I really enjoy tea swaps. Some preferences of mine are chai and teas with ‘vanilla’ or ‘red fruit’ flavors. But I also love teas flavored with Bergamot.

Loose tea: Yes, if factory packaged. But I like trying anything :)

And also, I love coffee/coffee flavored anything. Hot chocolate of any kind is always welcome! I also love lemonades, limeades, anything flavored with cherry, strawberry, pear or peach.

Please, nothing flavored with banana or licorice.

Postcards

I love vintage and hand crafted postcards. I’m not into anything ‘touristy’.
