I joined Swap-bot because I just bought my first house, am engaged recently, and just started my first career job as an attorney... I just wanted one more thing, to be connected with people.
In fact tonight, when I remembered I joined this site months ago, I was reading "restored my faith in humanity" posts. I started thinking... how can I be a part of that when all I do is wake up, go to work, go home, and spend free time shopping? That doesnt make for great connections with people... Not only that, I'm 26... I'm a crafter. For goodness sakes... I have a craft room... and I rarely have anyone other than my family to give things to.
Then I had to start google searching words until I could find this site again. I hope to get to know people and to make connections around the world...
I love everything... which sometimes is a problem. I always want to try anything. I want to be a quilter, a scrapbooker, baker, chef, and everything else!
I love to read but barely have the time to read all the cases I need for a brief due next week...
If I'm late with anything please bear with me. I try my best and will do my best... my goal is to have that NEVER happen, but I put that in here just in case. I work full time as an attorney and when I'm not at the office, I'm trying to make sure my house is at least not falling apart. :P
Random addition... I received a lovely shirt in a swap and luckily it was my size! Just in case clothing is ever an option... MY CLOTHING SIZE: shirt - Medium or large I love scarves, gloves, and hats!
Right now I am not doing all that I would like. Turns out a new house is not easy to keep up along with a full time job.
However, I etch eggs, make scrapbook cards, and cross stitch mainly. I used to knit and crochet a lot as well. I also bought a sewing machine thinking I would make clothes too...
my favorite thing is etching eggs. I was on the Martha Stewart show back in March 2012. I was lucky enough to show her on her show how to etch eggs. Unexpectedly enough, I was proposed to in Times Square afterwards...
Now I am working so hard at my job I just etch at times to relax (there is one in front of me right now...)
I also love making cards when I have the time. I make very bust cards that of course cost extra to mail... I have lots of fun gluing vintage stuff like buttons, pins, flowers, etc with my stamped images and such.
WISHLIST CRAFT STYLE: buttons lace flower embelishments silk roses crocheted flowers brads paper stickers of all kinds stamps (clear and blocks) cards and envelopes embellishments of any kind old items old jewelry vintage stuff thin ATG gun double sided glue tape birhtday items any holiday items pearl adhesives rhinestone adhesives Michales 1...2...3... dollar bin items! paper flowers!
Not a fan of: kawaii items branded items (like disney, etc) hello kitty
CURRENTLY I DONT: Sew Quilt
I love watching storage wars, storage wars texas, pawn stars, Hoarding - Buried alive (when I need to clean the house of course), as well as What Not to Wear when I can find it no TLC...
I love watching older movies like Oliver, Pride and Prejudice (BBC version), and White Christmas...
Road to Bali (Bob Hope and Bing Crosby) was a perfect evening movie for my sister and I growing up
Now I am a MUPPETS lover. I collect the seasons as they are slowly released. Beaker is my favorite guy on there, followed closely by Gonzo and Kermit of course.
I also love sitting down to watch Downton Abbey (Spelling?), Merlin, Doctor Who, Are You Being Served, Keeping up Appearances, and Robin Hood...
BBC is the best channel...
Just because I am a new Homeowner... I feel the need to justify my style sense.
I have no idea what this called, but I love eclectic look... with ethereal natural added in. In other words I try to have glass everywhere filled with natural items or shiny things. I have glass like tea cups etc from vintage shops, then filled with rocks and moss, etc. I like the look of a victorian/country home that was abandon and the elements started to take over...
if anyone ever has suggestions to make this look happen without spending a fortune... I am all ears!
FYIs you would not be able to guess from my profile:
I absolutely love notebooks and notecards. I try to find them as cheap as possible so I can doodle to do lists and the like in them. It makes me feel organized for a minute or two.
Let's make it easy and instead of writing paragraphs I'll just list... :) - notebooks
notecards (blank on the inside)
sharpie markers
printed fun to go tissue packs
Colgate wisps
lip balm
nail polish
lip stick
fun makeup
tea
hot chocolate
coffee
fun candy/chocolate
and so much more :)
