Come and find me on Instagram; I spend an awful lot of time on there...too much probably.
Well. I'm a teacher living in Leeds who LOVES to do anything crafty and creative. I quilt. I quilt. I quilt; at the moment I am hand piecing a paper pieced hexagon quilt. The hexagons I am using need small pieces of fabric about 3 inches square - if you have any scraps of fabric I would LOVE to put them in my quilt!
I have two dogs Montague and Sparky and a lovely, lovely Chris who keeps me sane and loves me lots.
I love swapping. Swap-bot crept up on me and now it is certainly part of my life. I go through phases of being in 3 or 4 swaps and then nothing for a while. So, if you check in to my profile and I am not in any swaps I am still around...I'm probably just drowning under paperwork from work.
Hosting swaps has become very important to me and I try my best to ensure that everyone in my swaps has a positive swapping experience. If you are in one of my swaps and you are unsure of something please get in touch.
Pulp, Johnny Cash, The Killers, anything really not that fussed to be honest...music is great but my real love is listening to the radio while I create crafty goodness.
I love Irvine Welsh, but more recently my reading has turned to the web - I'm a sucker for a good blog. I love a good gossip magazine - all those bright colours really catch my magpie eyes.
Pan's Labrynth, Narnia, Japanese animation, a good rom com...
Big Brother (oh dear), the food channel, most of Channel 4.
...bright stripes, colourful spots, tote bags, mermaids, mugs, nail varnish, brooches and badges, pink, purple, yellow, orange, sky blue, turquoise, red (all colours!), good design, secret bright linings where you wouldn't expect to find them, satin, polka dots, gingham, flickr, hand stitching, delicious smells like coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, lavender, delicious tastes like cinnamon, almond, chocolate...Christmas, Easter, all things PRETTY!
Things I like to watch... Dogs chasing their tails, dogs swimming (!), Japanese animation, funny animations, The Killers (Mr Brightside), practical jokes, cute things, Food programs, craft tutorials, stop motion animation...
If you're swapping a reusable shopping bag with me I would love one of those bags that is the same shape as a plastic carrier bag. I love bright colours and I would really like something unique to your area - something that I can't get in the UK.
At work I have to use a travel mug for my hot drinks - I like to choose pretty, bright ones instead of the utilitarian standard ones. I really don't like the metal ones, the plastic ones are ok (if they're pretty I love them) but I would love another ceramic one to add to my collection - tea tastes SO much better out of a ceramic cup!
Fabric styles that I love...
Sherbet Pips by Aneela Hoey for Moda Fabrics
Alexander Henry Fabrics
Henry Glass Fabrics
Robert Kaufman Fabric (in particular the cat in The Hat range)
Things that smell of smoke, religious items, shabby chic, angels, goth...I think that's about it.
Tea. I love tea but I only like Yorkshire Tea - sad I know, but true. Please don't send me tea!
I LOVE...
Chocolate - with almonds, mint, turkish delight, nougat, cream fillings, with peanut butter (we can't get Reese's in the UK very easily), caramel, marshmallow, coconut.
Sweets - chewy sweets, jelly babies, jelly beans, Spanish peaches, marshmallows, chewy mints, pick 'n' mix, white mice, drumstick lollies, pink prawns.
In particular I really like anything cinnamon or peanut butter flavoured.
The only combo I don't like is fruit (raisins, apricots - dried fruit) with chocolate, it's just wrong.
Deco tape, stickers, vintage fabric, Japanese fabric, patterned ribbons, small pieces of pretty fabric (at least 3 inch squares).
Flaked on by... @Brittanybuffalo for this swap.
RAK @lostdawill sent me Kool Aid, when it gets cooler I promise to send her a Curly Whirly!
Ratings
I give hearts to people who put their heart into the work they send me.
I give 5's to everyone who has fulfilled their swap responsibility.
I give 3's to people who don't fulfill their swap responsibility. Sending late, not reading through the swap description will result in a 3.
1's will always be given to those who don't send.
I believe in the rating system because it gives us the opportunity to keep our community safe from flakers and dubious swappers. Please always PM me if you're having trouble with a swap.
Flaked swaps...

It would be really helpful if you could write this on your parcel;
Dear Postperson,
If this item is too big to fit through the letterbox please put the item either in the recycling bin or leave it on the back doorstep.
Thank-you!

Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday (and lots of quiltie things) Dear MaryMint - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
Awwwwwwwwww I love the cards - especially the Totoro ones - I love them!! Thanks so much. <3
The girls have arrived!!!!
The were very excited to get out of the cramped quarters but really it is so expensive to fly anything other than coach these days and even coach is questionable LOL.
They were accompanied by one that was coming home. It is so funny because I noticed the beads first and then I said, wait, I made this one. How very funny.
Thank you so much, this was a great swap.

The ornament you made: "home is where the heart is" hangs on the window by my desk, so I see it constantly. I just adore it. Thank you, the joy from your package lingers.
Just wanted to let you know that I sent out your package today. It took me a little longer because of what I sent (I couldn't find an envelope that I liked big enough lol) But I got it sent out and I hope you love everything I sent. I'm so excited for you to get it! Thank you so much for doing the private swap with me, it means a lot. And you were my first international swap too! Thanks again!
<3 Courtney!
