Hey there,
My name is Mischa and I am a girl with a dog who wants to get through her degree in one piece. I was born in Poland, a place that will always have my heart with the pierogi and mountains and snow, but I moved to Australia when I was seven. Australia is breathtaking and I love the relaxed lifestyle here.
I'm a rather open minded person, always interested to hear about peoples thoughts, beliefs and experiences. Stories in any format are an obsession of mine. Send me myths, books recommendations, movie reviews, poems or tell me about your trip to the grocery shop.
Another passion of mine is drawing and painting, overall creating. I guess its another form of story telling really isn't it?
Now you know I've always loved stories and people and art. Isn't this the perfect way of combining all that?
I love colours: inky blues that sink across the sky just as night takes over, fern greens that stain across a page like the trees of a forest and orange. The orange of fresh citrus or a moment in a sunset. Don't let those few examples restrain you though.
Since I study pathology, anything human body related is cool. Quirky anatomy drawing, cool facts, microbiology, I love it all.
Reading. Ah, reading. I swoon just thinking about it. Frankenstein, Tiffany Aching, Darkest Minds, Harry Potter are just a few of my favourites. I adored "To the Lighthouse", I've always had a fascination with "King Lear" and "Wuthering Heights" has a special place in my heart. Always send me book recommendations, your thoughts/reviews and any book paraphernalia. Also, I have a confession. I'm a crazy romantic so any GOOD (decent) romance novels? I'm dying to hear about it. Those are hard to come by.
Movies are just another medium of stories, and stories are the core of books. To cut to the chase I love films. Some of my favourites?
+Stoker
+Crimson Peak
+Pride and Prejudice (2005, Kiera Knightly one)
+Bridget Jones
+Alien
These are just a few of many, many, many.
I'm also really into folklore and mythology. I think at the basis of such traditions is word of mouth, so hearing from people about the myths in their parts of the world is like actually being part of the oral tradition and holy sh*t that's cool.
I'm a little obsessed with North America at the moment. The way of life, the way it looks. I just want to go visit very, very badly. Every country has their own stories and gifts though, and this curious gal what's to know it all though.
I like hiking, although I haven't been on very many (yet!). Any tips or hearing about your stories is very welcome and appreciated. Also camping. I want to go camping, but I'm a big city girl so don't hold that against me.
I'm also always looking for new interests and to learn, so I'm keen to find out about anything.
Anything. Ah, I heard some mutterings ("that's so unhelpful"). Okay, okay, I hear ya.
If you need a helping hand:
+Stickers (always)
+Ribbons
+Book marks
+Anything dog related (bonus points if it's about black labradors)
+Anything whimsical and mysterious
+Any cryptid related thing (mermaids, yetis, vampires etc)
+Vintage cut outs
+Washi tape
+Pens or pencils
+Handmade anything is lovely, it's so cute that someone spent time to send something just me for ya know?
Surely, that's enough right?
Oh! I'm also totally okay with swearing, occult things, risque items or anything like that. I'm a pretty chill gal.
Sport stuff or kawaii things.
Also I never was allowed to watch Spongebob or Simpsons as a kid, and now I kind of don't really care about it.
Also racist and sexist stuff, not really a fan.
If you think I'm just generally a super cool person (understandable) and want to get to know me, I'm super down for doing private swaps or becoming your pen pal.
Any issues with any swaps I've sent out (as a Newbie I'm a bit nervous), just message me and I'll be super happy to sort any issues out :)
