I live in upstate South Carolina. I enjoy the mountains of NC and TN, and like to vacation at our Carolina beaches. I love to travel, and enjoy learning about the history & culture of the areas I visit. I enjoy birdwatching, and keep a feeder outside my kitchen window. Rabbits and opossums pass by sometimes, and the squirrels are plentiful. I call my backyard the Peaceable Kingdom, and all are welcome.

I enjoy reading, although I seem to have less time for it, usually only while I'm on vacation. I especially enjoy reading novels set in the South, in other locations I'm familiar with, or biographies/memoirs. I collect bookmarks, and especially like those w/ philosophical or inspirational quotes, or pretty handmade ones. Little Golden Books from the 1960s-1970s make me smile.

Mostly I like PBS, documentaries, or the reruns of I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith, Carol Burnett, and The Golden Girls, also Grace & Frankie on Netflix.

My favorite is James Taylor, especially his older classics; Native American flute music; Beach music. Some classical music is okay. Also like NPR, Enya, and Windham Hill-type instrumental music.

I enjoy painting with acrylics, or clipping junk mail and magazine images for collage. I enjoy creative writing when I have time/inspiration. I like to browse at Goodwill or thrift stores for second hand "treasures" to repurpose or use in my art. I spend time on Pinterest for inspiration. Occasionally, I enjoy baking desserts to share.

For postcard swaps: US national parks, historic places/landmarks, museums, old churches, Mom & Pop restaurants or roadside attractions, 1960-1970s era motels, US state maps/flags, "Greetings from..." or any touristy types, maritime/nautical, any vintage-style (reproductions are fine), nature scenes, ones featuring artwork or artists (such as Kahlo, Van Gogh, Monet, etc.), anything medical- or psychiatry related.

Spiral/swirl patterns (see my profile pic above), tartans/plaid

Nature-oriented themes: sun, mountains, trees, birds, woodland animals, seashore, seashells, butterflies, etc.....

Yellow (or any color) rubber ducks

Favorite colors: Emerald/Christmas green, purples, teal/turquoise, and yellow.

Favorite flowers: orange/salmon colored roses and any color daisies.

Favorite season: Autumn... I like leaves, pumpkins, and the rustic harvest style that's popular in the fall.

Collect: snowmen, Disney's Cinderella.

Dislikes:

Anime (or similar style animated characters), horror or gory images. I don't really keep up w/ pop culture, especially the Hollywood "drama"/ gossip stories. No political, awareness, or causes-unless it's the theme of the swap.
