April 17, 2017 Note: I'll be taking a hiatus from swaps for a bit due to a lack of funds. Any and all swaps I've signed up for and am currently in need of mailing out will be done so by the deadlines! :) Happy swapping...and hoping I'll be back soon!
Hello, I'm Kim...a wife, mother, student of life, sister, and collector of Santas, dragonflies, art supplies, Native American kachina dolls, found feathers, gnomes, pens, and stationary. I also clip and use all postage stamps from all mail I get in collages, whether it's a straight up stamp collage or with photos/images.
I love and miss traveling, and would love to do more soon! I'd love to get Chels interested in traveling...as I've traveled all over the States and studied abroad in Australia many many moons ago...I miss living 5 minutes from the beach, and I'd love to take my daughter and husband sometime.
I was born and raised in Northeast Indiana, have lived in Metro-Detroit, northwest Indiana, and Tucson, Arizona... I listen to all kinds of music, including (but not limited to) Shinedown, Black Keys, Jace Everett, Tracy Chapman, Edwin McCain, Eric Clapton, Kid Rock...and so much more. Before our daughter was born, we'd go to the movies quite a bit, and we miss that, especially to the Cinema Grille in Fort Wayne. Dinner and a movie at the same time! Awesomeness!
We do also have a 7 year old pit bull and two kitties under the age of one. It's always crazy in the Phillips' household! We also have a house gnome who loves moving things around and playing tricks on us...I've even got my husband saying it to our kids! ðŸ˜
In my free time I enjoy postcrossing, writing to pen pals, going to the park with my daughter, compiling a postcard book, and working on a journal for Chelsea. I also crochet A LOT! I always have a stash of crocheted cupcakes, baby blankets, table runners, and bookmarks for the occasional birthday or baby/bridal shower.
I was raised in the Lutheran church, Missouri Synod. However, I feel that even though I'm strong in my faith, Christianity is not fully what I believe in or live by. I treat others as I want to be treated and love surprising people with kindness, extra goodies I've crocheted, or passing along items in great condition that I may not want/need to use.
Postcards, Black and White photography, Doodling, Halloween, Stamps and stationary, Pens, Christmas, Fire, Candles, Burt's Bees Wax anything, gummy bears/worms, Traveling...also I've started an obsession of collecting fun/interesting/weird bumper stickers on the vehicle...anything to add to it would be great fun! Besides, it'd be free advertising! 🤗
Waffles,
McDonalds,
Rats and mice,
Animal skins/animal print,
Perfume,
Strong smells,
Chocolate/candy of any kind...unless it's gummy bears/worms, or even the sour gummy bears/worms! Please do NOT send tea. I don't drink or like it!
This spring (of 2017), I'll be working closer with the salamander, and my manitou... getting back to the basics! :)
Outlander series, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, The Picture of Dorian Grey, To Kill A Mocking Bird
Sometimes I'm in the mood for a magazine, but found I love the Prims and Where Women Create magazines the most. My husband likes the ones you find at the checkout lane...the ones about celebrities. I could without those though! lol
Crafts in general: Journaling, Crocheting, photography, and reading; colors: purple and green; Food: Spaghetti and meatballs, Animals: Owls, Spiders, Dragonflies, and Fox; Doodling; Shows: Gilmore Girls, NCIS, Downton Abbey, and Cranford...
Please do not send anything related to soaps, shampoos, lotions, makeup, candles, etc....I have a sensitivity to smells and am allergic to most soaps and shampoos. Thanks so very much in advance! 🙃 Although I do know that Burt's Beeswax products do not bother me.
01/26/2017- Recently I have found that I have a severe reaction to burning soy candles...so please no soy products! Thanks.
Chels is definitely a stereotypical 3 year old, but she's such a doll about everything. Big emotions, lots of love, she knows no stranger, fiercely loyal, quick to help, even quicker to love, and my mini me in every way. Do not feel you have include her when sending items, unless of course I've signed up for a child specific swap. Her typical loves are books, my little pony, Tinker Bell, anything art related for a 3 year old, and baseball/softball activities. She already has a wicked throwing arm and can swing a bat like a pro!

That picture is a bit small. Here is where you can find the larger one:
larger earth day graphic
Earth Day is April 22. Some ideas of how to celebrate Earth Day every day:
Plant a tree
Use kitchen towels instead of paper towels
Volunteer at a local recycling center
Take the kids and spend a day picking up litter in the local park or your favorite place
Plant a garden
Join a conservation group or program in your area
Teach your kids how to take care of the Earth
loved reading your profile and can see the love you have for 'The Daughter'. Hope you find some swaps to join in ALW. We can use your great energy
