My name is Jennifer, I used to be in a lot of swaps when I was younger, mainly candy swaps :P and thought it would be fun to start up again! I don't participate in many swaps as I'm a student, and I also don't want to join so many that I don't focus enough on each of them. This way each package or letter is even more appreciated on arrival!
I'm 26 years old, I live in Sweden and my main interests are gaming, crochet, reading, comic books and TV series! I love to do problem solving and puzzles also.
I recently started university and am getting a bachelors degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering! In January I am going to study one semester abroad in Alaska, so I would love anything Alaska themed!
Favorite games are Path of Exile, Hearthstone, Killing Floor.
I'm not a great crafter, I'm very new at crocheting and haven't finished major projects yet, but I might join a swap for it later when I'm more experienced and can send something I'm proud of.
I do want to get more into paper crafting, card making or pocket letters that I have seen a lot. I'm thinking I'll start with some ATC's to get the hang of it, since they are the same size as one of the pockets and just starting with one instead of nine seems like a good idea.
I recently got into experimenting a bit with water colors, which is so much fun!
I also like baking, when I can actually manage to bake the stuff!
I like a lot of different kinds of books, but I have a thing for the subgenre Southern Gothic, and the American South in general actually. I love the accents and I think the foods there seem amazing. I'd love to go there some day and just walk around and listen to people, and eat!
I really like horror books, and have been reading Stephen King since I was 11, so he is definitely my favorite in that genre. Science fiction is another genre I really enjoy, but haven't read as much in, so I have a lot of catching up to do there!
I read a lot of Swedish books too of course, one genre I love there is the proletarian literature by Moa Martinson, Per Anders Fogelström, Vilhelm Moberg and others. I have mainly read ones taking place in late 1800s - early/middle 1900s. Would love to read this genre from other countries as well, but haven't gotten around to it.
Some of the authors I would list as my favourites would be: Moa Martinson, Per Anders Fogelström, Joyce Carol Oates, Stephen King, Haruki Murakami, Donna Tartt, Vilhelm Moberg, Paul Auster, Jeffrey Eugenides, Joe Abercrombie, Ursula K Le Guin, Sarah Waters, Anne Rice and Denise Mina.
HBO is generally amazing, and as a lot of people, I love a lot of their shows, it's usually a good mark of quality.
I also like British Crime shows like Happy Valley, Broadchurch, Luther, Miss Marple, Line of Duty etc.
Other tv shows I like: Doctor Who (until Tennant left) GoT, House of Cards, Orange is the new Black, RuPauls Drag Race, Buffy, Downton Abbey, Extras, Freaks and Geeks, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe, Band of Brothers, Six Feet Under, Call the Midwife, United States of Tara, Nurse Jackie, Bob's Burgers.
I usually prefer Television series over movies, because I feel I connect better with characters and stories that last longer time.
Favorite animals are any wild forest animals, especially deer, elk, bear.
Most interesting historical figure to me is Henry VIII and his wives and children.
Homemade things, since I'm not very creative myself unfortunately.
Knitted or crocheted figures
Refrigerator magnets
Baking mixes from other countries!
Samples of all kinds
Chocolate or other candy, I am very curious to try sweets from other countries!
Protein bars always make me happy :)
Warm drinks, like hot chocolate or flavored coffee, or tea. I like a lot of different teas, I would love to recieve chocolate flavoured tea since I can't seem to find any here.
Crocheting items (patterns, yarns etc).
Used books I might like
Cinnamon, honey, vanilla and honey, black currant for scents
I have a fascination for the American South, so almost anything related to that
