Knitting since I was a teen, I've become a yarn-aholic! We have just moved for the very last time (20th in 37 years!)and I am almost embarrassed by the amount of yarn I have collected. I can crochet, but my first love is knitting. I learned to spin in my 20's so I have lots of fiber just waiting to be made into yarn! Mother of 3 adults, Oma to 4 grands, and wife of a very understanding man for the past 37 years. A year ago I left teaching (after 10 years at a maximum security prison for juvenile felons) and now earn my living as the Education Coordinator for an Organ Procurement Organization. Much of what I knit I give away -- to the grands, to the kids, or to charity. I am the happy house mate of two corgis -- and yes, I have used their copiously shed fur to spin and knit (but I cheated, I mixed it with alpaca)!
I have no allergies to any type of yarn -- I am, however, allergic to cats. My favorite single color is red - but multi colored things always catch my eye!
I love a good cup of tea -- real black tea -- as I don't enjoy herbal ones. Earl Grey & Constant Comment are two of my favorites, as is plain old Red Rose!
Tracy Chapman, Leo Kottke, any thing "Big Band"
It's a Wonderful Life (original), The Five People You Meet in Heaven,
I haven't watched TV in over 10 years - except for the Rose Bowl Parade this year and "So You Think You Can Dance" last fall (2006)
