Hi! I'm a busy mom and wife who enjoys quilt making --especially small quilts. We've lived overseas for many years- but North Carolina is our home for now. (...we were not in the military)

I've been quilting for 20 plus years...even when we lived in a remote area of SE Asia. My love for doll quilts began then because who needed a big heavy quilt in the jungles? Since I had to bring (or have mailed) all my fabric and supplies, miniature quilts was the way to go. My daughter's American Girl doll had more quilts than me!

I appreciate quality 100% cotton fabrics. (I've recently discovered incredible fabrics at a smocking shop. Wow!)

I enjoy making doll sized quilts, lap quilts and children's quilts. My dream is to one day be a part of the well-known doll swap now in its 7 or 8th round. But first I need a blog home.

My current favorites: fresh colors & prints which I add to white fabric (sashing, etc.).

I love scraps, any size, and quarters (fat or long!!!) and....white pearl buttons, good needles and thread.

Simple patterns have ALWAYS been my favorite: blocks, rectangles, triangles--they show off the fabric the best!

I particularly love small volumes of poetry, children's books and essays---especially if they are old.

I enjoy browsing the Project Gutenberg list of books (available free online).

I enjoy the photography and articles in "Victoria" magazine though I generally do NOT like the Victorian look.)

I enjoy getting ideas from magazines and blogs for quilting and decorating - especially noting the integration of antiques/vintage items with quality items of today (like the style of Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Wisteria). I like to decorate with my quilts.

I'm not a big TV and movie watcher...but I can't get enough of "You've Got Mail", "Inheritance", "Return to Me", "Anne of Green Gables", "Ever After"...you get the idea!

Dark & dreary colors; poorly made fabric; junk/doodads; being cold! poor lighting! I'm not a tea or coffee drinker (though I love the aroma).
