Hello!
October 5, 2023 comment: Good morning. I find I am not getting mail in a timely manner. For example, one card was mailed on August 2 and I got it October 2. So if you have mailed me something and I haven't rated you, there is a possibility it's still in the ether somewhere. Please contact me if you think I've missed you. Thank you.

I have been away for a while, but I thought I'd check in again, see what's going on.
These days I self publish a zine called Kiss5Tigers which is about, well, my life. If you're interested, contact me at my email address on file. I also write a blog by the same name, the link is attached to this profile.
Since I was last here, I got married. His name is Steven, and he has fragile health. It takes up a lot of our time, but I won't bore you with details. He's due for a kidney transplant in the near future.
Right now there are 4 young people in our lives. I have one kid, Dax, who is 26, and Steven has 3: Rox - 22, Zoe - 21, and Ben - 17. They keep us busy and we love them. We live with Steven's mom, and between us there are 3 dogs: Mollie, Onyx and Mazie.
For myself, I am going back to school this fall to take an MBA in entrepreneurship. I crochet hats for a project I call the 100 Hats Project. The idea is to create 100 hats and donate them, I haven't decided yet if they will go to a shelter or to a cancer center. I also am making art for an artists' group I'm in, which is fun.
I enjoy sci-fi, non fiction, and urban fantasy books. I used to be all about "tell me a story" but these days it's "teach me something". Favorite fiction authors include Charles DeLint, Laurell Hamilton, Neil Gaiman and William Gibson. Non fiction, well, that's a little harder. SARK I suppose, Malcolm Gladwell, but it's more topics than authors. I like biographies, especially of people who are facing mental health challenges. Also people of color and people with disabilities. I read a great collection on disabilities edited by Alice Wong. Also anything on creativity, or with exercises for expanding creativity. I like how-to mixed media art books.
I collect art supplies, ephemera, animal items (cats, rabbits, dragons, owls, fish, foxes), socks, and yarn. I used to love the socks from the dollar section at Target but they stopped doing that recently so I am a bit bummed about that. Stickers are a big deal for me, especially larger ones. I use them a lot in mail art.
I like stationery supplies of all kinds, from legal pads to colored pens to letter sets. Remember letter sets? I used to order them from some Asian stationery companies but they are not so popular any more (sad face) and I haven't found an affordable place to order them. I don't want to pay $8 for 4 sheets of paper. Envelopes are all over the place, but writing paper? A thing of the past.
As far as interests, right now I'm interested in everything! I like science, art, spiritual stuff (not specifically christian), psychology, wellness and health, sci-fi, quirky stuff, LGBTQIA+ issues, history, astrology, astronomy, ancient cultures, herbal medicine, mental health issues, environmental issues, urban homesteading, knitting and crochet, but this is a short list! lol
Mostly I am interested in you! I love hearing about people, what makes them happy, what's going on in their lives. Send me anything that makes you happy and I will be happy.

Thank you for your card. I will write back.
Hi Allison, if you decide to return to this site, please don't forget to rate your partners that sent to you, including in the Spring PenPal swap I hosted. Thanks.
I had sent my swap to you, on time, for "Send Anything: September -USA-." Did you receive it? I don't see your rating on my profile.
I know I'll be thrilled!!!! Thank you!
Thank you so so much for the cute little St Patty's day card... Got it today...it was great... Thank you Thank you Pat
I meant....that way when, not that when when........lol....It is getting late. Your profile info looks good. :)
What really helps in filling out profiles, is favorites for me. That when when I am picking something profile based for a swap I know what color or theme ect to choose. :) That way I can choose something my swap partner likes. You telling what you collect is a great help in itself!
