I am a retired Air Force veteran who left the service to enter the ministry as a United Methodist pastor. I've been a licensed local pastor since 2009 and currently serve 3 small churches in Southwest Iowa. I love what I do.
I'm married to Sheila and we have 5 beautiful kids; 4 girls and a boy ranging in age from 6-28. We like to go tent camping as a family in the summer. There is nowhere I'd rather be than sitting beside a campfire at the lake.
I am an English major and graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. I love sending and getting mail and am a member of the Letter Writers Alliance.
I also enjoy fishing, and kayaking - if I can combine fishing, kayaking and camping in one trip...Hooray! I like to play ukulele, fly kites, spin tops, and enjoy any kind of puzzle.
I enjoy crochet and have been doing that for many years. I also knit a little. I enjoy origami and other paper crafts.
I like to doodle and recently got interested in Zentangle.
I'm an avid reader and enjoy classic literature (Charles Dickens is a favorite), memoirs and biographies, and humorous essays (David Sedaris).
Some favorite books are; Oliver Twist, anything by Flannery O'Connor, Crime and Punishment, The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. I'm on Goodreads, too, if anyone is interested in what I've read and liked.
This is just a list of things that make me smile.
