Maybe this is a silly question . . . can each of these cards be in a totally different medium, or should they be more like a series?

Pat, an ATC stands for Artist Trading Card. There are only two rules with making and ATC, one is that it has to be 2½x3½ (you know just like a baseball card.) and the second is that they are NOT to be sold. Only traded. The rest is up to you. I love ATCs. Alot of times I will make ATC's and it will insprire me to make it larger for a card or even a scrapbook page.

Jewels, not a silly question at all. The fun with this type of ATC is that you can go different with each card, yet it is of the same set. Make sure to take photos for yourself of your work also. So you will have something to fall back on when in a slump. I have already made 4 or these now and each is completely different from the other.

Also remember to put the swap, your name, your address, and date on the back of each swap. I have received some neat art from others responding to an ATC that I have made for someone else. You can also keep swapping with that person if you both wish.

An ATC is 3 1/2" X 2 1/2".

THANK YOU RAINNY for answering all the questions - I have no idea what I have been doing but I all of a sudden got overwhelmed and lost track of everything :) I am getting back on track now - thankfully I haven't missed any deadlines! So the questions about the different mediums - play away use whatever you like. I have been working on mine too and I have some that are scrapped, some stamped, some watercolored - variety is the key to keeping the art interesting! I will continue to run the word atc swaps as they seem to be a big hit! thanks to all of you who are playing! ~~~Karyn

You can use your native language too if you like. I received the WINTER one like that and it was amazing! The only reqiorements are that they be ATC size 2.5" x 3.5" and that you do send out the swap! No Flaking!!! ~~~Karyn

Rainny - I don't know who makes that stamp I wish I did I stamped it at another get together and I can't even remember who owns it to get more but I had stamped off about 20 of them and I had only a few left so you were lucky to get one LOL! My ATC's have been sitting here for over 10 days now. I cant wait to send them out. Im very happy with the results on this set. I wish I would of made two sets. I guess I still have time. Though I always find myself getting pretty bored doing more than one unless I do it at the same time. For some reason it is hard for me to go back. Does anyone else have that same problem?

Thanks anyway Karyn. That one already went out on a valentines day card on another web site. I should of made copies of it first.

Hello, I'm also new here, but am not brave enough to sign on to this swap, altho I have so many ideas of how to do such a fun one as this.

I have a question tho - it may seem silly to the rest of you, but I am really struggling with it - what kind of glue do you use, to keep the paper from rippling and warping? I've tried Tacky glue, but it's so thick - but even watered down, it makes the paper curl and ripple. Ordinary white glue does the same thing.

Please HELP??

Rainny - I've only just started making ATCs and I thought the idea was to make a set for yourself as well as the ones to swap. I always make a set for myself first and can then adjust anything that doesn't quite work when I make the swapping ones.

Posting ATC'S to you today Evelyn....I tried to upload a image but didn't seem to work....

Gramms button box, I use my zyron all the time. I have the 4 inch runner, and the zyron,150,250and 500. I buy them when they are 40% off at Joanns. Or use one of my coupons. They are great though. They stick real well and never bulk.

Boatingbelle, you know that is a great idea. I have never made a set for myself. I think I will start though.

I sent mine off already I was so excited! I recieved my first ATC\'s in the mail from another swap and the are great! I am sending my Hubby out to find me one of those card collector books so I can fill it with lovely artwork! Anyway, in recieving these I realized that mine are definitely those of a newbie so forgive me swap-partner! I am learning.

I recieved 6 wonderfulllll A-R-T-I-S-T ATC'S today from Jazart...nice name....They are created from playing cards..the king of Hearts has a little gold crown attached and the Jack of Hearts has eyes that roll around...Great work Jazart.....thanks...

I rec'd my cards from Vic today...all the way from England! Awesome ATC's..there was a note enclosed saying this was a first attempt at making them...I must say, you scored great in my book! Keep on making them, you do great work! These were all hand drawn in B&W and they are very cool! I loved that little sticker on the envelope too!! Thanks! Laura

I hope, mine arrived at the meantime. Had a little problems with the post recently grmpf... the Birthday present for my friend hasn't arrived till today and i sent this at the same day as the ATC's - i'm a little bit worried about that, so Joanne, it would be great if you give me a little note if/when they Arrive to you ...

In response to the request for angels last night I had a LOT of responses - thank you so much everyone that replied your generosity is MUCH appreciated!

I also received responses from people who felt cheated as their swaps really had nothing to do with the guidelines but were just atc's they felt letters were stuck on. I will work on better wording this for future Spell It Out swaps.

I also had responses from people telling me that they had issues with late swaps and one of the no sends contacted me about some emergencies that they were not able to get the swaps out but that they fully intend to as soon as the crisis is handled.

Thank you all for taking the time to send in responses - it means a lot to me and it will help me in the future for setting up swaps and also for helping some of you who are falling behind or have crisis to deal with. Communication is the key and even if you have to send late taking the minute to shoot someone an email or post here goes a LONG way!

Letting your partners know you received and rating them is also common courtesy and I hope if you haven't already you will all take the time to do so!
