Description:

Thank you to @phillipska81 for letting me do a USA version of her international swap

If you’re anything like me when it comes to crocheting, you have patterns that you’ve printed off or copied from books. Then when you're looking through them, you decide that it's probably not anything you'll make.

So, for this swap we will send our partner 3 patterns from our stash. These should be clean patterns, that are clearly visible and readable (i.e. not dirty, wrinkled, or stained pages). They should be computer printed or photocopies with a photo of the item. NO HANDWRITTEN PATTERNS. Senders choice. My plan is to host this swap either monthly or every other month, so if you get a pattern you can't use you can pass it on in the next swap.

IMPORTANT - somewhere on the pattern print your name/swap-bot id IN PENCIL. This is so you don't receive the pattern back in future swaps. Do this even if you are passing on a pattern that someone else is passing on too. By using pencil, the name(s) can be erased by the person who decides to keep the pattern(s)

Newbies welcomed, with a well filled out profile (I DO CHECK AND WILL BAN). Because of delivery issues, multi-profiler/flaker concerns, and site policies I require real names. If you join a swap of mine with a fake name or no last name, you will be banned from the swap and asked to fix it for future swaps

No recent/unexplained low ratings and you must check into swap-bot within 3 days of partners being assigned. PLEASE check out my profile page and read the "About Swaps I Host" section for an in-depth explaination of my swap rules.

Also ~ I live in "Boonyville" Michigan and sometimes our internet connection isn't very good. This is especially true when it rains & in the winter months. I have been told that swap hosts have 7 days after the sign up date to assign partners. So please be patient, partners will get assigned and if needed I will extend the send date.

If you know of a bad swapper signed up for this swap, I appreciate being informed, but please DO NOT post to the comment section! Send me a PM and I will deal with it that way.

If you are a knitter and would like to do your own version, go right ahead.

Can we hand write a copy of a pattern in our stash? I am out of ink on my printer and the replacement cartridge is $50..ugh!

lynnerfb 01/23/2017 #

Just go some where and make a copy. ?

mermaidery 01/24/2017 #

I too would like to know if I can handwrite them. ( i have very neat writing.)

institches 01/24/2017 #

I have edited the swap description to show no hand written patterns.

Copies can be made very cheaply. We have a gas station in a neighboring town that charges 5 cents a page

phillipska81 01/24/2017 #

You can usually get copies at you local library for like 10 cents...I don't know if you need a library card or not to do so.

bluecrayons 01/24/2017 #

does the pattern have to have photos if it is printed?

institches 01/27/2017 #

@bluecrayons - yes. This is so everyone can see exactly what the pattern is for.

Another edit:

IMPORTANT - somewhere on the pattern print your name IN PENCIL. This is so you don't receive the pattern back in future swaps. Do this even if you are passing on a pattern that someone else is passing on too. By using pencil, the name(s) can be erased by the person who decides to keep the pattern(s)

Do the patterns have to be mailed flat or can we fold them to put into a smaller manilla envelope?

institches 02/28/2017 #

@debbiespoms - they can be folded

Great, thanks!
