Needlebook swap

This looks like a fun swap idea! Thanks for coming up with it!

im ready for a new needlebook. My granddaughter whos 11 thinks whats hers is hers and whats mine is hers!

Hi -- Is this swap open to newbies?

I really like this swap idea, but before I join I like to know what exactly a needle book is. Is it the same as a pin cushion? And if it is the same what size doest it need to be? . I hope I’m not sound to stupid. Martha

Martha: It's like a pin cushion, but in book form. There are two links there for ideas; if you need more, let me know. I've seen them as small as 3"x3" to as large as a 8.5" x 12" page. (That one had a fabric cover with two felt pages. One for pins, one with different stitch examples.)

Found Evidence, thanks for posting those links! Another way to make a needlebook is to use a small cross stitched piece for the "cover" and felt for the pages. I have marked this swap as sent, but unfortunately, due to a mail van catching on fire, I am not sure if my items will arrive at their destinations. I have notified the coordinator of this swap and my swap partner/s. The only information I have about this event is that some items were not harmed and have already been sent, some were damaged and where there is a senders address will be returned to the sender – hopefully within the next week, and some items were totally destroyed with no way of knowing who they were to or from. Obviously I am hoping for the ‘best-case scenario’ but I am busy making replacement items to prepare for a ‘worst-case scenario’.

Luckily the last day to send this swap is April 15, so I still have time to get replacement items, if need be, to my partners without them arriving too late after the closing date.

On the bright side, this has given me an excellent reason to go and buy more crafting items to restock my already over flowing craft room.

QueenBee, i got it today!!!!!!!!! Absolutely wonderful. Theirs nothing I wouldve liked any better. Hummers always make me cry, but in a good way. My Mom loved hummers and carnations almost more than us kids. No not jealous, just comfortable with it. Thank you so much for making my day. Denise

Wren on the run (love that name!) -- your delightful needlebook arrived in today's mail. And with needles and pins already in it, why didn't I think of that? lol! I love the vintage fabric you used to make it with, and the other extras -- little buttons on the last "page" and the little seashells you collected that day. The subtle colors in the fabric and the bird imagery are just right, you obviously read my profile! Thanks for showing such personal attention to my interests.
