Description:

This is it! Our first swap for the Farmer's Market Group. I am so excited to get things going. Our first swap is going to be about Opening Day at your market, or the first day you attended the market for the season, or your last visit to the market for you lucky folks who have a year round market.

Send your partner a little note about your day. Tell them about about the vendors you were looking forward to seeing and who was actually there. While you are at the Market find a little something something for your partner that they would like (check out their profile, or even pm them and let them know what kinds of things you expect to find and what they might like). Learn a little about your partner, maybe even make a new friend. Plan to spend in the $6-8 range, do not include the price of shipping, the note, or any wrapping. Make this fun, include a little information about your market like a flyer if they have one.

Let's make our little group special and send thoughtful packages. Meeting the barest of minimum requirements is not in the spirit of the group. Please be aware this is an international group, be prepared to have an international partner.

Most of all...Enjoy opening day at your market.

Great swap! Thanks for arranging! I'm quite curious about any random ideas people have for what they might send. Almost all the items at our farmers market are perishable except maybe the jam, so curious to hear people's thoughts...

My Farmer's Market actually doesn't open until Saturday, so I am not 100% sure what I will find. I know from previous years that there is a lady who makes really good candy and caramels. There is the potters guild, so a little something from there is always nice. One of my favorite vendors is a lady who makes cute little embroidered tea towels. She is only at the market the first few times as she works on them all winter and then just attends the market until they are gone, it doesn't take long. We also have a soap maker, a glass blower, and a few other independent potters. There are some ladies who make cute bags and purses. I plan on just getting a whole variety of stuff on Saturday and then PMing my partner and lettting them choose.

Wow! Sounds like you have a pretty incredible farmers market. Ours are year round but it's pretty much fruit, veg, baked goods and plants. I do have one idea however but I'll have to keep that my little secret! ;)

Hello, my market is very small, just about 20 vendors. But I love to get such fresh food. There is soap lady, a jewelery maker and the "little pie" lady. My daughter loves her little fruit pies. I will check out it out this Sat. The market just opened last Sat the 2nd. I haven't swapped in a while so I am looking forward to this swap.

I would love to join, but at the moment I am moving and things are hectic! I hope to join some swaps in June after the big move! Have fun everyone!
