Dragon Dreams Freebie Cross Stitch - Intl

Dragon Dreams, designed by Jennifer Aikman-Smith, are some of the cutest cross stitch designs there are! Jennifer has just relaunched her new website after quite a while offline, so I thought... why not celebrate! There's free Dragon Dreams charts here on the site, a perfect way to sample her designs and a great excuse to stitch something cute.

In this swap, stitch one of the freebie designs for one (1) partner, and finish it in a suitable manner.

The designs are quite small, and easy to stitch. They can be stitched on Aida or evenweave, whatever you feel comfortable using. A lot of them lend themselves very nicely to coloured fabric too.

Most of the charts use Kreinik thread to add sparkles, but in some places of the world (i.e where I live) Kreinik is expensive and diffucult to come by. If you find yourself in the same situation, or are only a casual cross stitcher and don't want to invest in specialty threads most Kreinik colours are covered by DMC Light Effects, which are much cheaper and are readily available - pretty much everywhere DMC is sold. There's a Kreinik/Light Effects conversion chart, so you can find the corresponding colour.

For "finishing" I mean completing your stitching into a way it can be displayed. This isn't as hard as it sounds. It can be as simple as putting it in a frame. Or there's ornaments, flat folds, needlekeepers, scissor fobs... the list goes on. There's lots of finishing ideas, along with fantastic instructions, at Focus on Finishing. The site also has links to more finishing ideas than you can count. Some of them doesn't even require sewing!
