--- Here we go with round #2 of Wish Swap ---

You've probably seen Wish List swaps on other crafty sites so I was thinking why not on swap-bot.

For this swap you will have 1 partner whom you will send at least 1 item from their wish list. International swappers are ok and the price range will be $10-20. Because of the nature of this swap I will drop you if you have a low rating or you do not add your wishlist below.

To be a part of this swap you must comment below with your first name, last initial and city associated with your mailing address along with a minimum of 5 wishes that can handmade and at least 2 wishes that can be bought - that way if your swap partner does not know how to make any of the things you listed she/he can buy you something instead. You can also add particular likes and dislikes to your comment, just to give your partner an idea of your tastes.

When you receive your swap partner look for their name in the comments, make and send them something from their list. You are not required to contact them before sending the item but if you have questions about their list please do so.

If you have a question about this swap please send me a personal message so that the comments section only contains wish lists.

******Don't forget to add pictures to the swap gallery******

Hi - I'm Jenifer H. from Stillwater, Oklahoma and I'm compulsiive about knitting. It's a sickness my husband has learned to appreciate.

For handcrafted items, I'd love a scarf or hat, or a cute felted purse, or dangly beaded earrings (yes, pierced), or felted clogs. Bright colors and sparkly are great with me.

Bought items? YARN! Notecards, fruity lip balm, lotion or soaps (I adore sandalwood, jasmine, and vanilla -- my son says I smell like a marshmallow when i wear vanilla lotion). I like all colors expect orange, and even then soometimes it's okay if it's not screaming traffic-cone bright. I'm terribly eclectic in my musical tastes, as some of you who've gotten CDs from me can attest. LOVE penguins, snowflakes, and bunnies. Not picky about fiber, kind of over eyelash yarn. I just love surprises in the mail!

user3922 09/26/2006 #

Well, I can't read, can I?? I forgot to add my name and city. LOL Please delete the last entry.

Toni T. from Steubenville, OH

This is my first swap here, and it looks like fun.

Handmade: a small Christmas ornaments for the tree (we cherish these, and if you include a short story about it, we will keep it safe and sound for generations!), a scarf (greens, purples, or maroons), a magnet for the refrigerator. Small stained glass or painted glass suncatchers with dragonfly, grapes, hummingbirds, or elegant flower themes. The best thing you can make is something made for the joy of making it!

No cost stuff: a recipe for Christmas Goose?

Purchased (or second hand): Let your heart guide you. Stretchy book covers, book marks, vintage-looking Christmas ornaments, postcards from overseas, teas and coffees, fairies, dragons, old books (no romance novels or westerns, please), tea strainers, lavender essential oils.

Likes: paleontology, writing, books, fairies, dragons, books, the colors: earth-toned greens, Autumnal colors, maroons. I like Gothic (the period), and Edwardian. Our house is a refurbished Victorian-era home, and most of the interior reflects this. I collect stained glass. I love lavender scents. I am Italian, and my husband is Scottish.

Dislikes: I just don't like blue, wacky colors, or anything very bright or harsh on the eyes. No fur, no fuzzies. No aliens or skulls. I'm not very commercial, and so I don't collect themed characters like Looney Toons, Betty Boop, Garfield, etc. No country themes or country music. No modern art. Um... I can't wear bracelets or large rings, as I sometimes need to use a cane and those items get tangled up with it.

If you'd like to swap things, or if there is something you are looking for: we live near the Pittsburgh Strip, which is a solid block of Italian goods. Pizzelles and other cookies, candies, and spices can be found there.

glassgrrl 09/26/2006 #

clarissa:

This sounds like fun. I like the odd and unusual, tattered and yellowed paper, strange old photos, things dark and mysterious. Gardening, herbs and oils, scented candles, cats, anything recalling the 1920's - 1940's, old films, dark chocolate, coffee, sketching, Vintage Halloween, masquerade. I don't knit or crochet, but do a lot of small collage, and am always looking for wee imagery, old text, foil and curious background papers. I love prowling through boxes of old costume jewelry with tarnished rhinestones, and wearing over-the-knee socks!

Dislikes: not a fan of fluffy, cute, frou-frou, typical modern girly stuff. (Claire's is mostly for my daughter, not me ;) I don't like fur, and try to avoid leather, unless it is recycled.

Homemade: A knitted or crocheted scarf, any color is fine, but I really like bright/neon colors. An altered journal. Jewelry, I love dangly earrings, but necklaces or bracelets are good (be forewarned I have a very small wrist.) Um...I guess CC mixes would go here. I love all music, just not too much rap or country. Or anything that you think I would like, surprises are always good. :)

Bought: Cute rubber stamps, unusual beads, scented candles, stationary or a card set, eye shadow, or again anything along theses lines that you would think I would like.

Likes: Bright colors, Science fiction, reading, art, music that isn't in english ^^ Nail polish, though I have almost every color imaginable.

Dislikes: If you go for scented candles I hate vanilla, pumpkin, and cookie scents.

Thats it. If you have any questions feel free to email me. Thank you in advance :)

Hand-made wishes: handspun yarn, hand-dyed spinning fiber, dichroic glass jewelry, hand-made 8 oz. coffee/tea mug -- with legs would be awesome (like Gandalf's in the beginning of the first LOTR movie at Bilbo's party) but isn't required ;), oil-based (alcohol free) body spray or roll-on perfume in a citrusy scent (like grapefruit or orange), wooden hair stick or comb (decorated or plain, as long as it's pretty!), hand-knit shrug of natural fibers or natural fiber blends (i.e. not 100% acrylic or other plasticky things) -- size small, hand-made incense, a small decorated jewelry box with a latch (to keep my jewelry in while I'm away from home)

Bought wishes: *caramel or butter rum flavored black tea (I love Stash 's Jamaican butter rum); *craft magazines, especially Vogue Knitting, Knitter's, and Spin Off; *the third Harry Potter book, American version, in paperback (or any of the others but 1 and 2, which I have); *Ranma 1/2 manga (any of them!); *a nice drop spindle; *sock yarn with wool or cotton content; *and check out my Wist if you like! It's at http://www.wists.com/Impstar

Likes: blue, green, purple, iridescent and metallics, wood, nature, rose-scented things, coconut-scented things, magic, fantasy animals (like dragons and phoenixes), books (especially fantasy and fun mystery), Victorian, British Royal Navy, tall ships, pirates, Caribbean, "exotic" themes (Egypt, India, China, etc.), organic anything, fair trade stuff, vegan and animal-friendly stuff, classical music, bath confetti, anything mint chocolate, tea, spicy things, candy, caramel, Turkish delight, Turkish coffee, marzipan ;), knitting, spinning, clothing reconstruction

Dislikes/allergies: angora (allergic), cultivated silk (wild silk like Tussah and muga are great!), bears, cheap white chocolate, pastel cutesy things, base metals in jewelry (my skin eats them! ;)), Fun Fur (except in very small dabs!), alcohol-based perfume, runny liquidy caramel (vs. chewy caramel)

I am a single with four kids so don't do much for myself and don't pamper myself either so some pampering items would be great. Love animals. fairykiss 10/18/2006 #

I just sent out my package. Nothing like waiting till the last minute :) I also got mine in the mail yesterday. All I can say is wow. To my partner, you are a sweetheart. I loved it all and you can check out pics on my blog. Thank you so much!

user1902 10/25/2006 #

My swap partner sent a fantastic hand-painted mug and great lanyards and magnets - just what I asked for, thank you!

Cassandra 10/28/2006 #

As of today, I have received nothing. Has my partner shipped something out?

Cassandra 11/ 1/2006 #

the one swap that I was looking forward to receiving, Nothing! If you have mailed out something, please let me know. Thank you

Zmrzlina 11/11/2006 #

I didn't receive anything but I had a blast picking out stuff to send to my partner. Out of the 130 or so swaps I've done on Swap-Bot, I've only got left out 4 times. I think that is pretty darn good.
