January 3rd will be here before you know it, so let's make and swap some Tolkien ATCs. If we send them by Yule our partners should get them in time for his birthday. The rule: I want this to be book-based (as opposed to movie-). I have lots of love and respect for Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings (and Bakshi and Rankin&Bass for that matter), but this particular swap is for ATCs that don't use reproductions of images from those movies. Hand-made art that borrows from his ideas is fine (meaning feel free to draw a portrait of Theoden that looks like Bernard Hill, for example), I just don't want things like a collage of magazine cut-outs of movie pictures. I'm more interested in your interpretation of Tolkien's words. The details: send 2 different ATCs to 2 partners for a total of 4 ATCs. (To clarify: you don't need to make 4 different ATCs- 2 copies of 2 different designs is fine. Both your swap partners can get the same set.) I'm leaving lots of time between sign-up and send-by because I know this is challenging and the holidays are a busy time. Anything JRR Tolkien wrote is up for grabs, not just the Middle-earth stuff. Mr. Bliss, Father Christmas, Farmer Giles? Great. ATCs are 2.5 x 3.5 inches. A stiff backing is nice, as are a few explanatory words on the back of the card. International. Newbies welcome, otherwise no one with a rating below 4.7 |
