I am a 23 year old "adventurer", with a love of new things. I put adventurer in quotations, because while I have been to a few places, including most of the states, France, and Switzerland, I still want to learn more, do more, experience more. And that's what most of my likes and dislikes are about. Facts: I am happily dating the most amazing man. I speak French, Latin, Greek, and good English, am learning German, and love languages. I am a History/ English double major, and I just graduated with my A.A. I love reading, and was very jealous of the library in Beauty and the Beast.
One tip about me: you'll see a lot of "just ask me" here... I'm bad about thinking of likes/ dislikes/ etc., so I do encourage asking me if you have any questions. I don't mind if you don't, and of course I don't rate down or even give hearts based on how much I like the package, but on how much effort I thought was put into it, and whether it met the description. So, Just Ask Me! :)
If I sign up for a swap, it's because I have either the supplies (for a partner-specific swap) or the swap item(s) either ready or pretty close, so I tend to send out my swaps early. I do put a lot of effort into my swaps (although I love hearts, I'm not going to get upset if someone doesn't give me one); I just do it before the swap signup date. Don't rate me down just because I sent early!
I haven't been on here recently, but I usually rate as soon as possible. I recently graduated from college, and moved in with my boyfriend, and got some new jobs, and I don't check our P.O. Box as often as I should. We do get to it at least once a week. If I haven't rated you as fast as you want me to, just shoot me a message! I am pretty laid-back, and I won't get upset if you don't.
Also, I do try to be fair for rating and hearts. I will give you a 3 if you didn't send on time, whether or not it otherwise met the description (date is part of the package). The only exception to this is if you PM me, informing me that it will be late, (and why, if necessary), or put a mass message up on your profile for people in a lot of swaps with a major emergency.
Pretty much everything I love can be summarized as reading and art. I love reading/ writing, and I am trying to become a writer. I also fell in love with creating art in my college Intro to Art class, where I had a lot of fun, and showed more talent than I thought I had. I also love mugs, calenders, teas, cooking, traveling, and whimsy. Just message me if you want to be extra sure!
I also love all kinds of tea. My perfect day includes lots of reading/ writing, lots of tea (hot and cold), lots of warmth, and lots of perfect music. Tea just seems to warm things up, make things homey, and I am a very homey kind of person: give me the choice between a bar and a movie/book at home (all expenses paid etc.), and I will hands-down, no deliberation needed, pick home.
I do like a lot of different kinds of things, and I will try anything 3 times: 1st to try it, 2nd (if I don't like it) to make sure, and 3rd to discover why I don't like it. If you're wondering, just ask!
I will try anything a few times, but if it's on this list, it's got to be pretty bad.
I absolutely hate coffee. No coffee related things (I don't even find them humorous, and I already have a friend on Facebook who posts everything about coffee).
I really don't like all the pink "frufru" girly things, mainly because they don't go with my decor, but also for a few other reasons.
Animal-printed things, (e.g. Giraffe or leopard prints), just don't care for them.
I absolutely detest poor grammar, and therefore anything about texting. We have such a beautiful language, and we should be proud of it!
I absolutely love to curl up or sit outside with a good book or magazine, and some kind of beverage (tea, wine, mixed drinks, etc.) My favorite authors are G.K. Chesterton, Evelyn Waugh, T.S. Eliot, Agatha Christie, William Shakespeare, and a few others. My favorite books are many, but include Jeeves and Wooster series, Miss Marple series, Brideshead Revisited, Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, and Mansfield Park.
Lately, I've been really interested in reading dystopian novels, including The Hunger Games, 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, and Lord of the Flies. If you have a book to recommend along these lines, I would really appreciate it!
I love a lot of different genre's of movies, and I will try almost anything once. I really dislike movies with lots of horror, blood, violence, or cursing, though. I have some continuous favorites, and some recent favorites. Continuous: Princess Bride, Paris, Je T'Aime, When Harry Met Sally, Love Actually, and many more. Recent: P.S. I Love You, Something Borrowed, Valentine's Day, New Years' Eve, and some others
I tend to enjoy tv shows that have mystery, singing, or quirky people (like Patrick Jane or Adrian Monk). I also love British television, probably because of their cool accents, but I tend to flatter myself and say that I like their unique sense of humour. Here are some that I watch faithfully every week: Mentalist, Psych, Glee (I used to like it, but now just catch up on the ever more bizarre story line), Big Bang Theory, Breaking In, Don't Trust the B#*% in Apt. 23, Criminal Minds, Rizzoli & Isles, Perception
I love a variety of music, and sometimes I post a playlist of my current favorites above. They tend to be a lot of country, pop, and musicals; I don't really like hard rock and rap (although I do like the song Ice, Ice, Baby... and yes, I am aware that it is considered a copycat of the M.C. Hammer song).
