About Me

My loves include farmers markets, growing my own mushrooms and herbs, writing letters and blogging. I am always interested in finding new restaurants and have a minor cookbook addiction. I am vegan for the animals - out of compassion and because I don't want them to suffer for me to live. I enjoy canoeing on the river by my house, biking, and working out with a kettlebell. On vacation, I enjoy visiting animal sanctuaries, riding subways in big cities, and touching the small town charm in the countryside. Traveling is one of my greatest passions.

Since I'm vegan, thank you for not sending me any animal products including wool, leather, bee products, gelatin, and so on!

Comment: Your letter made me laugh. Throughout our years in Denver we always bonded with other Cali "ex-pats" through our mutual lament that we so missed Trader Joe's and our dreams of opening one there. Now that we're back we don't go very often because parking is so terrible.
Response: Funny! Their parking is notoriously terrible, but where I used to live I could walk to it. Sigh... :)

Comment: ..howdy to you too! i love the postcard and that was definitely a very wise advice especially for anyone currently in college too! i understand about always having a "backup plan" but i think for me, i wouldn't have changed a thing because i think one should always follow their passion/dream and not live in regret. but i guess sometimes it also comes down to practicality, making compromises/sacrifices while still being able to pay the bills. i hope that despite everything you're still pursuing your passion! (and i absolutely adored the Bart SImpson stamp, thanks! :D

Comment: I enjoyed reading your zine and thanks for the Doctor Who cards. I have to admit that Jon Pertwee will always be "my doctor". Not so much a Tennant fan, altho I gather lots of people love him. For a chuckle, look up the song "Carrot juice is murder" by the Arrogant Worms. PS I enjoyed reading your zine. I'm reading a book called "hey mom, will eating this chicken give me man boobs?" lots of similar themes. Oh, and your title got a chuckle from my husband. I don't think I fully appreciated it until he said it out loud. "I pity tofu"

I started reading it a long time ago, but it made me so depressed that I stopped. But I think you would like it if you haven't read before. Thanks.
