I enjoy swapping; haven't done a lot of it lately & would like to get back into it.
I am married and work full-time. I am working on a book and some advanced education in order to become self-employed.
Both my husband and I volunteer for an animal rescue group.
We have a four-legged "fur" baby that we adopted a while ago.
I enjoy all types of music, with the exception of hip hop and "hard core" rap.
Some favorite artists are Yanni, Enya, Neil Diamond, Garth Brooks, Tobie Keith, all classical styles, Lynryd Skynryd, Guns 'N Roses, Rick Springfield, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks.
Reading is one of my first loves. It is not unusual for me to go from reading true life crime to a "cozy" murder mystery to reading about the lives of British monarchs.
While there are many genres of reading I enjoy I have found myself gravitating toward Laura Childs, Monica Ferris, Jonathan Kellerman, and Faye Kellerman. Joel Rosenberg and Joel C. Rosenberg are also high on my "gotta read" lists.
Computer games can be fun when I have the extra time but I find that spare time is getting harder and harder to come by these days.
I have a grand time walking my dog --- she can be very comical and entertaining.
Working with my hands is something that I do as "second nature". . . mostly I crochet and quilt these days. I dabble with knitting, cross stitch and embroidery when the weather is extremely warm since it is lighter work.
My favorite colors are pink, purple, yellow, and rose (well, actually all shades of red).
I am diabetic, and have a very low tolerance for spicy foods. Also, due to a medical condition I need to avoid caffeine as much as possible
I drink alot of herbal tea (either that or decaffinated) during the day at work. . . don't drink so much of it at home.
Chocolate is something that I will indulge in on occasion but with the diabetes and the caffeine I try to stay away from it.
Italian, Greek and Chinese cuisines are my favorites. I really enjoy sushi as well.
Getting handmade items from swap partners will always be appreciated.
I am very easy going. If there is ever a question please just drop me a line.
I have been called very patient; however, I have no patience for people who feel that they have to put others down in order to make themselves feel better.
There are several shows that I enjoy watching, Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen, Project Runway and Criminal Minds.
Other shows, like Hoarding: Buried Alive and Hoarders are interesting to me because there are several acquaintances that I have that suffer from these problems. . . the psychology of being a hoarder has fascinated me since my college days.
I also enjoy watching the Law & Order programs. . .although as a former legal secretary that continues to work with some attorneys the show makes law & the legal system too simplistic and "easy". . . researching and investigation are never completed in short order. . . it can take years to wait for someone to "convict" themselves and leave an evidentiary trail that can't be missed.
Hmmm, I've read some swaps that require wish lists. . . but I really don't have that much that I want. I am trying to downsize the stash of craft projects so I really don't need anything extra beyond what the swaps are for.
However, in order to have a listing to qualify for some swaps here are things that I would guess could be called "wish" items:
12" (finished size) quilt blocks of 100% cotton fabric using the following colors: yellow, red and green
Handmade Christmas ornaments
6" (finished size) quilt blocks of 100% cotton fabric using the following colors: black, white and orange
Crocheted doilies
Votive candles (especially scented ones) I like all scents
Recommendations of good books to read
Handmade bookmarks
Reusable shopping bags -- I use these for everything!
Tips on organizing
Assistance of a professional organizer
Treadle sewing machine in really good condition
Knitting lessons
Table weaving loom
Weaving lessons
Hand woven place mats
Frame for making hand woven rag rugs
Table for Featherweight 221
Guess that is it for now. . . .if I think of anything else I'll add it.
