About Me

To paraphrase a favorite childhood author, I have red hair and freckles. The rest is subject to change without notice. There's an ever-increasing invasion of grey hairs among the red, but I kind of like it.

I love reading, and I live for gardening. When I'm not outside with dirt under my nails, I'm thinking about being outside with dirt under my nails. I love everything about it.

I also love letters, both sending and receiving. I'm a member of the Letter Writers Alliance, and have a couple of wonderful penpals from it.

Have a question? Please ask!

Please Don't Send...

Cigarette smoke. I get debilitating migraines, and I can't do even third-hand cigarette smoke. If you get assigned me in a swap, and you're in a smoking household, no worries. Just please message me! :) I'm not trying to make life difficult, I'm just trying to avoid being unable to work for a week due to a migraine.

I ALWAYS Mail

I always mail out my swaps. Sometimes I'll even pop the extra for delivery confirmation. I stay in communication, and share the tracking number with my assigned swap partner(s). I mail as soon as humanly possible. If you don't receive your swap in a timely manner, please contact me!

Rating

I do my best to follow the rating criteria as laid out by Swapbot's FAQ.

5: I got my stuff and it met posted swap requirements (ex. It was mailed on time).

3: I got my stuff, but it didn't meet the posted swap requirements. (Mailed late or didn't follow the guidelines in some way.)

1: I never got anything. I'll give it a reasonable amount of time, and try a few times to contact my partner before rating a 1.

The exception: If something goes sideways and you absolutely cannot mail on time, please contact me. Preferably on or before the due date.

Oh no, my letter was returned!

Let me know the letter/package was returned. Send me an image of the address on the item, so I can see if it was addressed correctly. If it was addressed correctly, then I'll offer to cover the postage needed to resend it.

Don't throw away the original envelope that you mailed on time. Without that original envelope, I can't give you a 5, and I HATE giving anything other than a 5.

Here's why:
1. The original envelope shows the date the item was mailed, which proves that you mailed it on time.
2. The original envelope will have a rectangular yellow sticker on it showing the reason the Post Office returned it.
3. Please enclose the original envelope when you remail the swap. Again, without the original envelope proving that it was mailed on time, I can't give a feedback score of 5.

I hate, HATE having to do this, but the number of people who are mailing late (sometimes several weeks late), and claiming the mail was returned as undeliverable, is getting improbably high. I'm not saying the Post Office doesn't make mistakes, just that if it made that many mistakes, I'd never receive my bills on time. :P

I know (especially with international shipping) problems can arise, so please contact me.

TLDR: If you tell me you mailed the item on time, and it was returned, you must provide proof that that's what happened. An impossible number of people have claimed this, and so now I need to see it. And I hate that I have to ask it. If proof isn't provided, I will give a rating of 1 or 3.

Did I do something wrong?

Did I mess up the package I sent you, in some way? Please let me know so I can do my best to make it right. I want to know where I can improve. :)

Comment: Thank you for the card. I like the poem "the Winter Tree"by William Carlos Williams. It is somewhat like a traditional classical Chinese poem. But I cannot recognize the contents of the design of the decorating Faience.
