I'm a fifth grade teacher. I have been teaching for over twenty years. I like reading, working out and doing crafts. Ok, I sometimes have to force myself to work out but I still do it. The books I like reading are mostly nonfiction. I like to read people's stories. I guess we call those biographies. I like listening to all types of music. My favorite movies are anything except science fiction/fantasy. I find myself constantly thinking about ways to channel my creative energy. Currently, I do that by knitting and quilting. I also really like working with wool felt. It s appealing because it's portable and it doesn't fray like fabric does. Mixed media is something. I've also recently become interested in.
I grew up in Maryland and lived there for over 40 years before meeting and marrying my husband, who is in the US army, and moving to Virginia in 2010. My husband and I have three children, he has two from his previous marriage and I have a daughter from my first marriage. She is getting ready to graduate high school and attend George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. I'm contemplating being an empty nester. My husband and I really enjoy camping. Some of our favorite places to camp are Harpers Ferry, New Hampshire and Cherokee, North Carolina.
I have four dogs. Two golden retrievers, a black lab and a miniature schnauzer. My daughter calls me crazy dog lady because I really love dogs.

Welcome to swap-bot! I like non-fiction too. Biographies, true crime and "memoirs" I guess you'd call them ("I lived on a desert island for 5 years and wrote a book about it!" stuff). Happy swapping!
