Hi! My name is Sabrina :-) I live in Maine. I am 37yo and I am a mother to three great kids. Amara is 10, Brody is 8 and Corbin is 7. I am married to my high school sweetheart Billy! We were together when I was younger...I moved away to San Francisco...and went on to join the Army....after an injury, came back to Maine...and he was here...waiting for me. We are best friends! He is such a wonderful father. He is a foreman for plumbing and heating company.
I have a 3yo black lab/weimarener mix name pepper..and an 11yo chihuahua named Bella. Both females.
We live on a small lake here in Maine. The loons have just arrived back after a long winter. I love listening to their calls at night.
My husband and I really enjoy fly fishing. I just learned about a year ago. I joined a disabled veteran (due to my injuries) group that gets veterans fly fishing as a way of therapy!
Its not just about catching a fish. There is something about standing in a stream...with all the sounds of nature around you. Connecting with the earth. Its is a form of meditation. I just LOVE it! We go to a place called Grand Lake Stream here in Maine. We spend a lot of our summer there. It is a town nationally known for its fishing. We just purchases a piece of land there..and are putting a big fix-r-upper camper there...to spend summers. I am so excited.
I currently stay home for the most part. My degree is in Health and Wellness but have not worked in the field in a few years. After my kids were born, I got more serious about photography. I am self taught and I can finally feel confident enough to say I am pretty darn good! I enjoy photography people. Lifestyle photography...where you look at an image....and it evokes an emotion. Not really into the posy stuff. I want people to feel something when they look at my images.
Almost 4 years ago..I was in a car accident and what i thought was just bad whiplash ended up being Post Concussion Syndrome. So I am living with a minor traumatic brain injury. The first 2 years were HORRIBLE...but I am finally enjoying life again.
I have great coping skills now. Crafting was a very important part of my recovery. The repetitiveness of crocheting...helped my brain to form connections again.
I may not be really great at it..but it is very helpful to me.
Cute things make me smile. I enjoy the Kawaii look and my Daughter Amara does as well. It is all just SO adorable! I have become pretty decent at polymer clay these days. I enjoy cute charms ect. My goal is to start crafting regularly to get enough stock to do a craft fair this fall. My table will be all things cute!!! Mostly the kawaii look. Who doesnt love cute things!!
It will also be a way for my daughter and I to bond.
My boys are into legos and robots!
I recently started needle felting. I am doing ok..but need to keep practicing .
I also enjoy pocket style scrapbooking. (project life) I am WAAAYY behind. I have so many great photos I really need to get into albums!! You gotta start somewhere!
Being mindful is important to me. Since my head injury...I have learned to find peace in my life...and not sweat the small things. I focus on positive energy around me and am trying to instill in my children to do the same.
My accident brought on some sort of awakening in me.
I am much more aware of energies around me.
I am working on becoming more intuitive...and realizing just how connected our minds are to everything, and everyone.
So i am working on my spirituality by doing lots of reading and self teaching. Meditation is HUGE...and need to be more consistent.
I haven't been reading for pleasure much these days. I have dabbling in new age books to work on my intuition.
So metaphysical books you could say.
I try to eat grain free (paleo)..i notice i feel much better when i do....so I am all about Paleo cookbooks to have on hand. I have lots of ebooks...but want to start collecting the actual books so my family can help pick out new meals to try.
