I work for The National Zoo and love arts and crafts and anything creative!!

I am originally from the south, from Southern Virginia and Western North Carolina. Bluegrass country!

Here is my schpeel about the things I like:

Dallas(my dog), paddling, paddling, and staring at my beautiful kayak, haha... anything outdoors, the smell of dirt, full moons, the navaho waking me up from my slumber in new mexican canyons with flute song, open water, dogs, smart and witty boys, cheese, my goldfish, my plants, working for conservation, camping trips with my dad, wandering around the city, black coffee, good books, knowledge of any sort, people with big laughs, the sun, the sound of kids playing, beets (because they taste like dirt), the smell of old books, being warm and cozy when it's freezing--even if you're on the side of a mountain!... charlie, smelling the flowers i walk by every day, looking for new adventure, treehouses, hammocks, and down time.... wine and a claw foot tub!

I love animals, great and small, slimy or hairy, and every single one in between. I have worked in animal conservation my whole life, and still do! I have my dream job of working in non-profit AND at a zoo!

I have a degree in Cultural Anthropology and English Literature, and I love anything pertaining to the two.

I love antiques and old and used and loved things. I would like to know the stories of objects.

But I love the beat writers and "cult" books, like Tom Robbins, Chuck Palahnuik (sp?), Kurt Vonegut, Gregory Corso, etc...

I love feminist writers as well, both old and new.

I like science and fiction and non-fiction and everything in between...

I love a good story.

the old classics mostly. and of course The Big Lebowski and all the Wes Anderson films

Sculpture with clay and found objects. Fabrics and paper crafts. Putting things together in a cool way. I pretty much love multimedia and collage kind of stuff.

As for things for me, I love browns and greens (I'm a redhead, so I think it's unavoidable!). I am an earth-tone kinda gal. I love old maps and clocks and owls.

Like I said, I love all animals, but owls, octopi, orangutan, swallows, and of course schnauzers rank high on the list. And pandas too, I can't forget those silly guys!

I like old books and literature, so I love art that includes an old page of a book or words.

I like all things nature. Working in conservation has given me a love of collecting trinkets from the outdoors, so leaves, sticks, flowers, bark, and especially rocks adorn a lot of my artwork and the things I like.

Found objects, rusty metal, old tattered toys, and just about anything you find lying around cities and country side. Or old buildings with old weathered men rocking in porch chairs.
