I am cursed with an overactive creative passion. I love my kids and my family. I have two 'gap' children, a 15 year old daughter and a 6 year old very active son. Living with my soul mate and best friend on Vancouver Island where I am re-training as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. I love mother nature, animals, crafts, good books, great coffee and teas, intricate oddities and fine art. I'm all for some good soul music, a meditation or two, some deep reading and a good joke. I love to play like a child again. Gardening, reading, music, my blended family, crafts, spirituality, earthy things, fitness fanatic and female bodybuilding. Living life simply. Fabrics, texture, contrast, retro, new, old fashioned, baroque. I am all of it all at once. Eclectic. Tend to follow the Tibetan buddhist way of thinking. Try to live my life with less waste, less impact; believe in recycling, re-using. Like the challenge of finding new things to do with old things.
Papercrafts (not so much into the scrapbooking thing), ATCs, sketching, painting, pottery and clay miniatures, handmade soaps, altered books.
Sarah McLaughlin, Blue Rodeo, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gypsy Kings, Sting, classical music, Evanescence, Beth Matthews Band (indie) most upbeat country music (only when I'm driving.. don't know why) The Eagles, Nickelback, Bob Segers (okay, now I'm dating myself...) Celtic music (hauntingly beautiful!), gregorian chant (for when I'm putzing around the house)
Flamenco dancing, hiking, bodybuilding, beachcombing, camping, playing with my kids, watching a good movie, live theatre, rock-hounding, gardening, landscaping, remodelling, decorating, flower arranging, listening to music, baking.
anything by Deepak Chopra, The Artist Within, The Secret, anything by Wayne Dyer, some of the older Stephen King (a bit of escapism), Margaret Atwood books, presently reading a biography on Che Guevara. (Our son is named Che as well)
Stickers, Disney Stuff (it's for kids, not adults), Flakers, neon colors, black licorice (ew!) Highly stressed people, confrontation
tiny things, metal embellishments, unique natural textured fabrics, anything vintage, retro, crystals, old sheet music, old pages from classic tales or poems, seeds, beautiful unique beads, natural unspun wool, dried flowers, feathers, pretty rocks, antique ribbons, handmade papers, sea glass. Gorgeous fabrics. I'm especially drawn to beautifully embroidered organzas, tafettas, velvets, and all the "fancies". (I've discovered I have very expensive taste in fabrics!)
Kisses from my kids, watching my dog play, flannel sheets, flannel pj pants, Roiboos tea with milk and brown sugar in it, fresh baked bread with real butter on it... still hot!, the smell of roast cooking, handmade crafts from my kids, watching them play together, Christmas time, cosy blankets on a comfy couch, wood burning fireplaces, hot chocolate on a snowy day, the sun on my back, a good massage, having someone play with my hair, super-soft housecoats!, my slippers, hearing small children laugh, getting neat stuff in the mail!
horses, hedgehogs, butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, whimsy frogs, whimsy cows, hummingbirds, porcupines, dogs, cats, celtic crosses and illuminations
Rich earthy tones (burnt oranges, taupes, chocolate browns, deep reds) Bright colors (not neon) like lime green, cobalt blue. Pastel blue and pink and sage green with chocolate brown or black. Midnight blue, especially in rich fabrics like velvet or tafetta.
