Latest Update I had planned to have all my swapping finished before the end of the year, because I work TONS of overtime the first 3 months every year. (I am an accountant.) However, my work schedule exploded a couple months earlier (see below) with extra projects, leading to much stress and contributing to weaken my immune system. I am still working crazy hours, but I am starting to feel better physically, and will get all swaps and forums tags out time permitting. Thank you to all my swap partners being patient with me, and I truly apologize for the wait! Your swap WILL arrive soon!!!
12/17/07 To update my status: I’ve already notified my swap partners about my situation that has caused me to be late on my open swaps. This is just for general info for those interested, especially if I happen to get some “1 ratings.
Beginning in October, my work schedule got unbelievably crazy – busy – stressful. I was already paired up with a few swaps, but was beginning to feel overwhelmed with the overtime I was working and the lack of free time. I dropped any swaps that had not yet assigned partners and have been trying to “make good on all those that were already assigned.
By Thanksgiving weekend, I began getting sick. The cold-like symptoms quickly went into an upper-respiratory infection. I am physically still pretty run down, and after a couple rounds of antibiotic, my digestive system is messed up, and in the process of curing the infection, I somehow got bronchitis!
To sum it all up, I basically work (and cough! lol) all day and then go home and collapse on the bed! I can’t afford to NOT go to work, but I have to take care of my health so I can get well soon! Thus I have no free time (or energy) to finish up my swaps as quickly as I would like. But I WILL send out the swaps, and I will not try to skimp on them either. Thank you to all those swap partners of mine that are patient with me.
I will not sign up for anymore swaps or do any tagging on the forums until I am caught up. Thanks again for everyone’s understanding.
New Age, piano, easy listening (Jim Brickman, David Lanz, Enya, Tingstad & Rumbel, etc.) Some Christian (Steve Green, Fernando Ortega)
Not much of a reader, but I like The Cat Who series by Lillian Jackson Braun.
I'm a Bible-believer, so I try to read and memorize verses all the time (even though I'm not much of a reader!)
I love Word Games books (aka Variety Puzzles): Crostics & Sylla-crostics, Crypto-Families & Cryptograms, Anagrams, etc.
I also like coloring books! (still a child inside!)
Movies: Out of Africa, Anna and the King, Crouching Tiger - Hidden Dragon, Green Card, The Saint, Princess Bride, Holes TV: NCIS, Gilmore Girls
I avoid R rated movies and TV shows with a lot of profanity.
My home is filled with shades of green, and "nature" accents. I love the artistry of Marjolein Bastin and the Nature's Sketchbook. I like wood items over metal, traditional more than modern. I love handmade quilts and afghans, and have them on display and in use in my home.
Perfume minis (approx 5-7ml or .2 oz)
Squished pennies (elongated coins)
Lighthouse items (of an actual lighthouse, not just an artist's rendering of a "general" lighthouse)
Petosky stones
Some McDonalds Happy Meal items - Beanie Babies, Build-a-Bear, Polly Pocket, Madame Alexander dolls, Strawberry Shortcake, Shrek (still need Gingy) Also have ALL the Shrek collectible glasses except Donkey!
I also have a fun little collection of the M&M characters that hold M&M minis with different "toppers" for each holiday (Christmas, Easter & Valentines is what I have so far...)
Flavored coffee and tea, mostly tea.
My favorite chocolate is Ghiradelli (Hershey's is #2), but I don't eat a lot of sweets.
I like to buy, use, give away and collect all kinds of stickers!
I have an additonal addiction to stationery, note cards, and fancy pens. I like office supplies in general, but especially like metallic/glitter pens (esp. miniature ones), and colorful metallic paper clips/binder clips/staples!
Of course, I love yarn! All kinds! I love any kind of crochet paraphernalia including patterns and hooks. Would love to own a Graydog someday!
I ♥love♥ baseball! Of course, living in Houston, the Astros are my favorite team. I have a weakness for catchers (Ausmus is so dishy!), and my favorite catcher of all time is Ivan (Pudge) Rodriguez of the Detroit Tigers.
I got one of these little figurines from a friend last year: look here I've been trying to find more to add to the collection. If anyone finds one at a reasonable price, let's do a trade. They are nice, but I'm hoping to keep my cost to USD$10 or less. ;-)
