I love music. All types of music, especially Flamenco! However, which type of music I listen to depends on my mood. If I am down or sad, I like to listen to blue grass or Cajun music to elevate my spirits. When I feel the need to calm down, I listen to the New Age (Soundscapes) on the TV. If I am feeling melancholy,I turn to the fav's of the "70's. I'll listen to smooth jazz or light classical anytime!
When I am not reading professional journals or previewing text books, I love a good "Who Dunnit" mystery. Any book written by John Grisham, Patricia MacDonald, James Patterson, Charlotte Perkins Gillman, and Joyce Carol Oates. I also enjoy books on theology even though I do not consider myself religious, I am spiritual.
My favorite TV series in "Masterpiece Theater"on BBC. I also love the Weather station and the wonderful presentations by Peter Lik.
I have been making jewelry since I was a little girl. My grandfather was a rockhound and turned me on to the thrill of stones. Since then, I have graduated to love semi-precious gems, silver, and Swarovski crystals.
I seem to have a special love for Victorian roses. Started a collection of tea cups and eggs cups with roses on them to add a Victorian flair to my kitchen and bedroom. In addition, I collect Victorian or vintage postcards with roses especially red ones!
I have also been stamping and making scrapbooks for years. I have a ton of stamps, papers, and embellishments. However, I never seem to have enough!!! I am always adding a new stamp here or there and cannot resist beautiful new paper!!!
I was born and raised in Yakima, Washington, and graduated from the University of Washington with a Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology. Got married and moved to Minneapolis, MN. where I suffered through 10 long, cold, harsh winters! Moved to Seville, Spain where I spend a fabulous 10 years teaching Public Speaking, Composition, and English Phonology at the International College of Seville, completed another Master's Degree in Spanish Logopedia, and a PhD in Philologia. Secured a position as the Program Director at a Hearing and Speech Center in Coral Gables, FL. Now I work on a pre-K Diagnostic Team evaluating children ages 3-5 with communication, cognitive, emotional, and/or behavioral (Autusm, PDD, etc...) difficulties. I have remarried and have lived in Miami happily here ever since!!!
Love these magazines: "The Rubber Stamper", the "Stampers' Sampler", and "Bead Style".They all have excellent ideas and projects for you to try.

Don't Like Cold weather (that's why I live in Florida!), small yappy dogs, complaining people, drab brown or beige clothing, rude/bad drivers, gloomy/rainy days, cow/pig/chicken or any "country" decorations.

Hi Carol! I just noticed that you're new to swap-bot, so I thought I'd add a "Welcome & Have Fun!" message to your page. I've been addicted to swapping since I joined last year, & just love the thoughtfulness of people like yourself. I hope you encounter this same type of good mail karma. Take care ~Lisa
