I'm Marcy, a 52 year old mother of three sons...17,23 and 26. My husband and I are soon to be empty-nesters and new in-laws. I love to travel and worked as a travel agent for 10 years. I have owned an antique shop in Lenox, Massachusetts for the last 13 years. My husband also sells toys on Ebay, so we love the antiques shows, tag sales and flea markets. I work long hours during the summer tourist season, but have my winters free for projects. I'm working my way through the house...re-papering or painting. I also love to cook, although I'm a lifetime Weight Watcher, so I now cook low "points".
I like a good mystery, especially with a woman investigator. Funny mysteries with recipes are great, too. I am also hooked on real science science fiction...NOT fantasy in the Anne McCaffrey style.
Anything with Hugh Grant is still a favorite. I also like science fiction movies. Not really into spy movies, except for James Bond.
Science fiction again...I'm a HUGE Dr. Who fan. Also Stargate and Star Trek. Basically most of the Scifi channel offerings. I also loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and the Dresden Files. However, I'm also a Discovery channel fan, as well as a big Food network watcher, especially Alton Brown.
I'm pretty good at needlepoint. My future daughter-in-law is teaching me to be a better knitter. I also crochet.
Antiques, tag sales and flea markets....why buy it new when the old stuff was made so well?.....As of July 8, 2008...I am the newest member of the Berkshire Hills Chorus of the Sweet Adelines...an international women's barbershop "quartet" singing organization.!!
I like piano jazz, Diana Krall, the Beatles, and southern rock ( the Allman Brothers,Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top .) That's a holdover from my college days in Atlanta in the 70's.
anything with religious content...please don't ask me to believe what you believe.
Devon (Torquay) pottery from England, laughing bunny rabbit figurines, postcards from my hometown--Longmeadow, Massachusetts, postcards from my kids colleges(Duke,Brown and Skidmore)--I make collages, vintage cookbooks, silverplate dishes with apple handles, buttons with dogs--metal, plastic, little metal dogs, bells in the shape of ladies.
My favorites: color is cobalt blue, especially in combination with maroon and hunter green--- flower is an iris---food is still peanut butter and chocolate--- pets are dogs! My kids have cats, so I'm tolerant--- drink is a tie between GOOD coffee and GOOD tea, hot or cold--- sport is just walking, and favorite city to walk in is London--- perfume is White Diamonds, but my favorite and most relaxing scent is eucalyptus and spearmint--- I would love: needlepoint yarn and embroidery thread, needlepoint canvas--plain or printed, EASY knitting patterns--I'm tired of scarves!, dog buttons, old dip pens for calligraphy. OR anything related to my collections and favorites.

I love those Alexander McCall Smith books....I've also read his series set in Scotland, but I don't like it as much. Thanks for the welcome!
If you like mysteries with women investigators and humour. Have you read the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency? They fit the bill and are really good!
