I am a stay at home mom to an 20 month old son named Ian. I used to work in the Social Work Field but put that on hold to start a family and raise children with my partner. I love the outdoors and my favorite pastimes are canoeing, hiking and backpacking. Since moving into a rural area in the mountains, I am interested in learning about birds and local plants.

I also enjoy photography, baking, cooking, and reading.

I love earthy colors. Browns, reds, oranges, greens.

My favorite smells are lavender, peppermint, vanilla, and orange

I love chocolate, popcorn, and drinking tea.

Right now our family is exploring Waldorf education and homeschooling as it fits into our values and lifestyle. We want to raise our son with a love and appreciation of nature.

I also love, running, singing, blogging, the ocean, magazines, snowshoeing, quilts, hot baths, natural products, Reiki, hot chocolate, knits, spring, gardening, preserving, sock monkeys, anything homeade and Autumn.

My favorite books to read are Canadian fiction. A few of my favorite authors include Margaret Atwood, Farley Mowat, Douglas Coupland, Miriam Toews, and Carol Shields.

I love indie music. Canada is a great place for Indie music! I love Neko Case, The Be Good Tanyas, Po Girl, The Weakerthans, Julie Doiron, and Kate Maki. I also love Tom Waits, U2, CCR, Great Big Sea, Coldplay, and Ani Difranco.

I don’t have cable or watch TV but I love movies. My favorites are Rare Birds, Waking Ned Devine, Water, Off the Map, I Capture The Castle, New Waterford Girl, The Harry Potter Movies, and Almost Famous.

I have just started sewing and felt-craft. I am an occasional scrapbooker and like art journaling.
